I've been going to Genzianella on and off for more then 50 years. I witnessed highs and lows but always appreciated the family atmosphere and the traditional food.
The last few years were definitely the best, making this place our favorite in Madonna and as a matter of fact the only one we go to for regular meals. Whatever you choose don't miss the "cavolo cappuccio" simple but special!

We loved our evening here. Massive selection of pizzas but also other Italian dishes.
The pizzas are great and the atmosphere is busy, buzzing and happy. Full of Italians and tourists alike. Lovely. Of course this is not an haute cuisine restaurant but great food in an relaxed atmosphere. Remember to ook a table. We could only get a table 9.30pm :-)

This restaurant is an absolutely hidden gem. It is in the basement level of the Hotel Bertelli at the foot of the Pradalago Cabin. I am astonished tha there have been so few recent Tripadvisor reviews of this one star Michelin restaurant! I consider myself very fortunate to have secured a table for 6 at only three hours notice but this was a wonderful foodie and wine experience. The restaurant is really comfortable and has the ambience of an old ski chalet. The three staff who served us were warm, efficient and knowledgeable. I c ould happily have gone for the tasting menu bu the majority view was for a la carte.
The menu is based on regional flavours and ingredients - and if not that which is brought in is quality. I liked the hors d'oeuvres served with your choice of four fizzes. This was the first example of the considerable care taken to match wine and food. Loved the combinations of fruit flavours with the salmon and oyster. The pate in a small case was matched by the excellence of the venison carpaccio. My risotto and pork belly was delicious but not filling and set me right up for the caramelised and braised veal cheek. I could also not resist the chocolate dessert! Others loved their lobster, Wagyu steak, beef, tuna - how does the chef manage to offer such diverse voluptuous cuisine? The wine list was slightly intimidating but we were guided through this and made shrewd choices with the sommelier and maitre d'. We turned down coffee but still were offered petit fours - amazing! You might expect that this would have been a Michelin dining experience at a major cost but I consider the 120 euros a head an absolute bargain for this outstanding gastronomic experience!
I have put the Hotel Bertelli on my bucket list for a return visit to stay and indulge myself at Il Gallo Cedrone. The atmosphere was one of calm, comfort and service. My only advice would be to ensure that you are not disappointed. Book this absolute gem well in advance!

Fantastic atmosphere, great service, tasty food. Can not forget the pier-mustard sauce with pumpkin and cheese :) Guestss are meet with a glass of sparkling wine. After dinner - again surprizes: cookies, “limoncelo” :) Nice touch. Lunch for two (bottle of water, 2 glasses of wine, 1 starter, 2 main dishes) ~ 72 eur.

This really sums up all that is good about Italian skiing and why the Brits are such idiots to continue skiing and eating on the slopes in "third world" France. Madonna offers plenty of challenging slopes but some great places to rest and recharge. From the moment you walk in here, you are treated as a treasured friend. Great service, good food and all at sensible prices. Nothing is too much trouble. Pine schnapps 'on the house' at the bar after paying your bill...& before venturing out into the snow again. PERFETTO!

Get the reservation, get in, sit down and enjoy. Steaks are good, salads are good, wines are good, but the 'specialite' is Brasilian CHURRASCO - huge amount of different meats grilled on spades. Remember not to eat anything many hours before you get there :)

We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner at La Cantina del Suisse. The restaurant itself is cozy and the food and service were very good. An extra plus for the glass of prosecco while we were figuring out what to eat and the bonus appetizer. We also appreciated that we could share appetizers and desserts without any problem.

Distant location from the town center with the way throughout the narrow paths on the mountain slope make the dinning adventure hard to meet the expectations. The promoted panoramic view could be enjoyed only during the daylight. Meals are served as the preset menu - everybody is served the same meals. portions are rely small and very very house made. at the same time the prices are high enough.

Big busy mountainside restaurant with lots of options - you can have lovely white linen waiter service with an amazing menu, or queue for fresh pizza, or indeed lovely pastas and salads. Very busy but tables in restaurant can be reserved and its all very efficiently run. Gorgeous views from all around, great location.
