I went there because of TripAdvisor and it did not disappoint. The place is cosy and the food was great. Good size portions and good wine. We ask for daily soup and code fish. We had 2 Deserts and it was all in good price. You can pay with card witch is always nice in this time of small restaurants.

If you are visiting trás os montes, one undiscovered part of northern Portugal, try to taste delicious food at this restaurant, right in City center of Macedo de Cavaleiros. Confortable room, friendful staff and, abobe all, very good food:
Try the secretos, francesinha and entrecote. You will never regret them!
Finish your meal with a delicious sweet, mousse de areia ( sand mousse)...

Driving across Spain into north east Portugal the temptation is to simply grab lunch in one of the petrol station cafes on the road, but if you are near Macedo de Cavaleiros drive into town, park in the middle and enjoy a proper Portuguese meal at a very good price.
The Alentejo pork, which comes as a casserole with clams, sauté potatoes and pickled vegetables, was delicious and a complete meal in itself. Accompanied by bread, olives, a beer and a coffee and all for only eight Euros, the roadside competition loses every time.
The restaurant was busy but not full, staff were attentive and helpful, and some spoke a degree of English.
All in all an excellent place.

La calidad y la cantidad excelente, la única queja es que nos han contado más precio del que nos dijeron al principio , no excesivo porque el menú está a 15€, y es verdad que es mucha cantidad y se puede repetir lo que se quiera

We arrived late for lunch on a sunday with a campercar and a dog, not an easy visitor !
Dogs are in Portugal by law forbidden inside, so we could use a table on the Terrace outside.
Nobody speaks english or else, but all very helpfull, enthousiastic people and a very large piece of delicious roasted meat, dessert and coffee and for a very good quality-price ratio.
Address to be recommended !

Amazing place do eat you couldn't ask for better , high quality food with high standards . The quality of food served are amazing plus the wines are very good and strategical combinations with the food served , for all tastes .
