A city with a lively history, Lviv (also spelled L’viv and Lvov) in Ukraine’s west was founded in the 13th century and has changed flags many times in the years since, having been part of Poland, Austria-Hungary and the Soviet empire. The city’s well-preserved historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has attractions like the Market Square (Ploshcha Rynok). Climb the tower at the town hall for a great city view. The Lviv Opera House is dazzling and hosts world-class performances.

Grand Hotel Lviv Luxury & Spa

125 years ago a building number thirteen appeared on Svobody av. It was a modern Hotel at the outset of its long and fascinating history. The building was one of the first in the town to get electric lighting, and the most respected Lviv elite artists, writers, and journalists; used to gather here. Earlier, an Austrian man of letters Leopold von Sacher-Masoch was born in this very building. Today, the Grand Hotel combines the austerity of classic and the elegance of modern, creating a special atmosphere of comfort and coziness. You can enjoy delicious meals from our chef at the Grand SoLi restaurant. Our guests can admire the panoramic view of the city on the roof summer terrace. There is a lounge bar for those who love good cocktails and a cigar room for those who would like to relax with a sophisticated crowd.

Great visit!

Last week we had a great experience visiting a SPA in Grand Hotel, with my mother. Although we didn't stay the night, I can definitely say the hotel is great and impressive. Beautifully designed, it's luxurious without overkill, and the overall atmosphere is just making you feel comfortable. We liked the room very much as well, great attention to details. But the highlight was the SPA itself - one of the best I visited so far. Excellent quality and relaxing experience. Would love to come back!

BANKHOTEL

The hotel BANKHOTEL ART CONGRESS HALL hospitably welcomed the guests and residents of the city on June 8, 2018. The hotel is located in Lviv in a reconstructed building of the former Austro-Hungarian bank in the historic part of the city. The branch of the Austro-Hungarian Bank was built during the period of the city’s rapid economic development, which took place from 1870 to 1914. Its designing was undertaken by two architects, graduates of the Lviv Polytechnic University, Edmund Zhikhovich and Michal Luzhetsky. Young architects worked together on the basis of the Zhykhovich design bureau. This bureau was famous for a large number of designed and later constructed buildings. Its main peculiarity is the use of secessional and modernist interpretations of various historical styles. In 2015 the Creative Architectural Workshop “Kudin” took up the design of the reconstruction and adaptation of historic bank building into a hotel.

At Heart of Everything

Very convenient if you want to stay at the heart of the city. Everything is within a walking distance: a small shop, cafes, a clinic to make your PCR tests, the Rynok Square, beauty nail and hair saloons..etc. the hotel is very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips for stays in the Carpathian and they extended checkouts until late. The bed was not comfortable through I recommenced changing the beds (we tried 2 different rooms). The classic rooms are too small and the lack basic amenities like a boiler or tea or coffee. The hotel is slightly expensive compared to other hotels in Lviv. But overall I very much recommend it for location and for great staff

Stayed two nights for a weekend break. Pros: - Location: Right across street from opera house.  Easy walk to market square, Old Town.  Easy spot to get a taxi (I used bolt). - Breakfast was included in my room. With COVID precautions like many places you put in your choice ahead of time, and they bring it to you. So no buffet or a la carte. Three choices I think, which were tasty, and had fill-your-own coffee and water/juice. - Dining room: Breakfast was served there, also a restaurant you could eat for lunch/dinner (I did not). But this hotel/restaurant is called panorama for a reason, wonderful view of the opera house and square.  - Room was decent sized for a single. Free bottle of water (not to be confused with the minibar), which was replaced daily. - Well located power outlets, especially the one next to bed.  Since most places have done away with clocks, this is key. - Cute, quirky decorations. - Wifi worked fine. Cons: - Acknowleding that it was winter, but my room was cold.  Like 16 degrees (C) cold. As with many places, when you took the key out of the power slot, power turned off, including the in room HVAC. But even with the (separate, water heat) radiator cranked on high,  it would get cold during the day and then the electric in-room system never got above 20 degrees even after a full night on. Maybe this was just due to the location on the room,  sort of off the main hallway, but be warned. The bathroom was extra cold, and the towel heater didn't make up for that.  - A (pay as you go) mini bar, but no in room coffee,  tea,  etc. - Shower leaked if the spray hit anywhere but the floor. Which meant having to lower the showerhead a lot given the angle. All in all, I would certainly consider staying there again, but would try to get a room in the main hallway.

Convenient location. No one even cleans the common areas-kitchen, toilet and shower: almost no trash can be taken out or rarely done. Therr are three knives in the kitchen , but all are so obtuse that they cannot be cut. There are no hooks near the washbasin , they are just in the hallway, but not where convenient

Hotel with history

Reviewed By Ufodisco

The stay was indeed good. Location is great, hotel is historic. Atmosphere is charming and you can really feel the sense of time. Breakfast was good too, same as overall service and cleanliness. What should be improved is the security. Hotel uses old keys system, which should be substituted to electronic key system. Overall enjoyed the stay
