A small Italian restaurant on the edge of the old town and a few minutes walk from our hotel. A warm welcome from our Sicilian waiter, and a menu card in English was produced. Madame had the grilled salmon, and I had the pork saltimbocca. Both came with nicely cooked vegetables, and a salad to share. The Italian wine from the card was excellent and reasonably priced. An enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings and good service.

I was in town for business. I had been to this restaurant once before about a year ago, and gave it high praise. I went on a Tuesday night with a colleague that hadn't been here before. We both had the filet steak with pepper corn sauce and split some chianti. I started with a caprese salad and had tiramisu for dessert. Everything was very good. The funny thing is the company we were visiting took us here the next night not knowing we had been there the day before. No complaints though. That night I had the sea bass which initially came while but they offered to bone it table side which I appreciated. With more colleagues in town we went again the next night. This time 4 of us split a couple pizzas for a starter. The diavola and one with artichokes, ham, mushrooms, and maybe more. I could see the dough being tossed from the table in the kitchen. I went with the sirloin steak which I enjoyed. The last night there was only 2 of us, but returned for the 4th night in a row. I went with the lasagne which was a 3.5/5 for me. Overall this is a very good restaurant, good food, service, and ambience. The location was convenient from either hotel zur krone or Mercure. Price was reasonable as well. It's worth noting the the 4th night was a Friday night and they were quite full. When greeted at the door and asking for a table it didn't look promising. However the waiter that had served us 2 of the 3 previous nights recognized us and found us a table. That goes a long way in my book. I would definitely recommend and return myself as well.

Bestellt wurden in einem fast leeren Restaurant zwei Nudelgerichte ein Vorspeisensalat und eine Pizza, von denen nach 40 Minuten der Warmanteil serviert wurde. Der Salat wurde weitere fünf Minuten später nachgereicht, mit dem Kommentar wir machen alles frisch und es ist viel zu tun wir arbeiten so schnell wie möglich.Auf die Geschwindigkeit möchte ich gar nicht weiter eingehen das schlimme ist das nach dieser Wartezeit noch nicht einmal das Ergebnis stimmt. Selbst wenn man keine groÃen Erwartungen an eine günstige Trattoria hat sollte man hier lieber einen groÃen Bogen machen.

I was there a couple of days ago. It is a small restaurant (6-8 small tables), comfortable and nice. The pasta was delicious. The tagliatelle with shrimps were excellent. We did not try the pizza, but it looked really nice, too. Very good service, for a good price.

La Fontana is an authenic Italian restaurant in the Old Town area of Hamelin.Surprisingly, it sports a delightful restaurant garden, accessible through a tunnel from the restaurant proper.The Italian cuisine menue is extensive. We ordered (1) a shared antipasto plate, then (2) basil and goat cheese gnocchi, and (3) melanzane-alla-parmigiana. All were nicely presented. Tastewise, #1 and #3 were OK, but positively lacked a touch of garlic, and even some salt. # 3 was just perfect.The service was attentive and timely.Overall, a good dining experience, albeit there is room for improvement.

I popped into this restaurant to grab a takeaway pizza for the road, on my way to Hannover airport. I was with a friend and we ordered 2 small Hawaiian pizzas to go.We sat inthe bar and waited for 50 minutes before I asked where our food was (I was being polite waiting that long, as they were clearly inefficient and the service to other diners was appaling). The young girl, to be fair, looked very apologetic when she said "I'm sorry, the pizzas are only just going in the oven now, they will be another 15 minutes." We were offered a free drink to compensate but said no thank you, we just wanted our food.Finally, one hour and 5 minutes after we ordered, our pizzas came out. I only paid for one, and the woman didn't argue (she looked resigned to the fact that the restaurant wasn't performing well). Several customers had got up out of their seats to go and ask where a missing drinks order was or that their order hadn't even been taken yet! A couple who has been totally ignored in the corner of the restaurant got up, complained that they hadn't even had their order taken and then left.We took our pizzas to our car and they were just terrible. They were soggy, they were over-weighted with pineapple but there was hardly any ham. I took the ham off mine, as it was patchy and grey in colour, Then, to top it all off, they hadn't cut the pizzas into slices so we had to claw and tear it up. And the cherry on the cake was I found a short, black HAIR sticking out of the melted cheese on my pizza.All in all, terrible service and below average food.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, and if you're thinking about going there for a meal - don't - because you will wait even longer for food and drinks.

In total we were seven adults and two children when we dined at this restaurant which is a family favourite. However on this occasion, it failed to meet with excellence. The rump steaks were tough, one had to be returned as it was too under-done having been requested well-done, I.e. no blood. Strangely it was also served with a great deal of gravy as standard, with the menu description being grilled rump steak with options of fried onions and mushrooms. My particular meal was with bratkartoffel (fried potatoes) which were also swimming in gravy, not appetising to say the least. The side salads made up for the disappointment with the meat, the dressing being the tastiest eaten in a long time. The service overall was excellent bearing in mind only one woman served drinks and food for the whole restaurant with the owner hovering to chat and disposing of the odd plate or two. A child friendly restaurant, but this is the norm for italian's in my opinion.

Zu erst einmal zum Essen. Das war in Ordnung. Keine geschmackliche Offenbarung, aber absolut okay. Und die Preise sind dementsprechend. Das passt. Was ich nicht verstanden habe: Espresso, Cappuccino und selbst normalen Kaffee gibt es nur als Pulver. Das hab ich tatsächlich noch nirgendwo erlebt. Und ich dachte es wird nebenan ein Café betrieben?!
