We attended a birthday party at this teahouse at Nutter. There was a wide variety of nice teas and the high tea had many different items, which all tasted very nice. The service was swift and friendly. I definitely will go back in spring to this nice place.

We took advantage of a "Dining with the Stars"offer at approx.50 Euros per person.The in-house restaurant De Wanne prepared a splendid 5 course dinner in no way different from the regular menu. To the contrary: if we take into account the appetizers we had a Michelin-starred 6 course dinner.The superb sommelier added a very nice wine selection and the Italian maître d'hotel added a good amount of humour.We visit this restaurant every year and always enjoy being there.

We've visited the restaurant many times before and you're always assured of a pleasant evening. Staff is very friendly and the food is very nice for a fair price. The best restaurant in the area. Lovely surroundings too.

This place is set out in the country beside an intact 18th c. water mill which at one time was a paper-making mill. To access the restaurant, one crosses a beautifully managed garden with rose arches along the pathways. The eatery, on warm summer day, is an open plaza with seating for about 100 people. The tables are long with garden chairs. This area, too, is beautifully landscaped and planters are filled with bright flowers everywhere.You can come for tea and dessert or a full meal.The specialty of the house is pannekoeke, large, thin pancakes with either sweet or savory toppings. The food was good but not extraordinary.On a rainy day or in the winter, there is an indoor restaurant which has a dark wood interior. As it was not in use during our visit, perhaps it is brighter with lighting.What we found extraordinary was to be able to walk around freely in this 18th century setting with basically unaltered timber-built (no nails) buildings, the mill race (with ducks and ducklings), free range chickens and roosters and little brightly colored sparrow-sized birds. The setting is spectacular. We found the restaurant prices too high for what was served, about $C 35 per person for a modest lunch and a dessert, wine cost extra. If you have a lighter budget, I'd suggest beverage plus a dessert, and enjoy the surroundings.

I've been here 3 times so far. It's a place quite far away from human society. Nevertheless its always crowded. You definitely should book a table in advance.It's a small cosy café with friendly staff. All meals come with the all you can eat salad buffet which offers a really nice variety of salads for you to enjoy as much as you would like. The main courses are sold for between 13 and 25 euros, so normal prices. I've tried several things already and all were really good. Especially liked their pulled pork (draadjesvlees). Its not on the menu, but can be requested with the cook.Also loved that they have gifts for kids visiting. My son loves to play with the little book he got.Definitely worth visiting!

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a sunny afternoon in september. The location is on a little square making it nice to sit outside. We had tea with bread and "kroketten". The food was fine, only for the price we expected slightly fresher bread. All together a good place for lunch.

We just had coffee at the terrace but it made a very good impression on us. Maybe it was because of the good weather, maybe it was the nice staff or maybe the coffee or just the location but we had a very good stop during our cycling trip.

We were staying at the local hotel but didn't want to eat in the hotel restaurant every night and so tried the Gasterij de Smid once for a drink in the evening - and then revisited the next night for dinner. There was a Tyrolean themed evening taking place and the place was full. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were all very helpful and friendly and the service was excellent. The food was excellent and there was a good range of beers to keep my husband happy. Being able to cycle back to the hotel was a bonus!

This 'snackbar' has a good choice of real German food. We took a schnitzel, which was so big it almost didn't fit on our plate, and a large currywurst. The fries were too salty, but the rest was good. Personally I appreciated the very clean toilets. The whole restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Enough free parking possibilities. As it is so close to the dutch border they speak dutch and german.

We attended a 3 day yoga retreat here and it was perfect. The hotel is on the beautiful estate. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. I loved the 200m pool and the sauna. The restaurant is also inviting and perfect for all meals, I enjoyed their lunches the most, especially the goat cheese salad. You can take long walks around the estate or go into the small town. It's perfect for couples, friend's weekend away or a family trip. Having a yoga retreat here was a great plus!Dear Nthabi,Thank you very much for your review on Tripadvisor!
