Various amazing dumplings with awesome sauces, good wine and really nice, friendly, funny service team. We had vegetarian dumplings (quinoa with curry vegetables and spinach-potato dumpling with nut crumbs and tomato sauce) - awesome. But they have many meat variables as well. Thanks a lot for your words - we are very happy that you enjoyed our dumplings! See you soon :-)

The staff, atmosphere and of course the food is excellent. Special food wishes, due to allergies or intolerances, is absolutely no problem. Big charming courtyard is also available. The quality of the restaurant is excellent. Don't forget to stop by a drink at the in-house bar. Two charming barkeepers and an excellent choice of drinks are available.

I spotted Rossatz 8 from above the town while hiking on the Wachau Valley Trail. In the small town, I saw an outdoor courtyard with large umbrellas to provide some shade so on descending from the hillside, I stopped in. I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere both outdoors and inside is classy. I craved some beef so I had the Rossatz 8 burger and some wine. In a country known more for pork, I wasn't sure how my food would taste but to my surprise and enjoyment, the burger with fries was really good. And the prices were moderate. I will return next time I am in the area.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. As it was my husband’s 30th birthday, we had looked on tripadvisor for somewhere special and so I pre-booked on their website, which was very straight forward. The interior of this restaurant is in no way pretentious, and the staff and the atmosphere make you feel at home straight away. The owner is so genuinely lovely which really adds to the whole dining experience. It was a special occasion so we didn’t mind spending a bit more, but do not let the prices put you off as the quality of the ingredients and the standard of the end products are fabulous and well worth every penny. We also had a bottle of Gruner Veltliner, which was one of the nicest wines I’ve had the fortune to try.We went for the soup option to start and both types were served with the main ingredients in the bowl and then the owner came with the soup in little teapots and poured it over. The eating certainly did start with the eyes for this course. For the main, I went for the fish (Croaker), a type I’d never had before, which was served with polenta. It was delicious and the accompaniments really tied the dish together. Despite feeling very full at this point, we both went for dessert, and boy am I glad! I enjoyed the apple omelette on a rum foam and my husband had the rhubarb pancake.....both were amazing. The owners took the time to ask about our visit to Austria after the meal and they just seemed so genuine and wanted their guests to have an enjoyable experience. When we next visit Austria, we will definitely book here again. The delicious food and wonderful hospitality were worth every penny.....and then some, and we will remember that for a long time to come!

Located on the river we sat outside for a birthday party dinner. The service was excellent, the food superb, the Wachau wines simply amazing and the outdoor seating was heavenly. It was the season for all things apricots. The steaks were delicious. We ate and drank here very well. Earlier we had met the son in this local family who of course is now also making his own wines. The place to be.

Undoubtedly the best place in town and worth a trip to enjoy the terrace on a lovely evening. I would dine here again just for the experience.Pros: very good quality food, tasty; relaxed pace of service; lovely surroundings and marvelous to overlook the river; quiet and elegant; they allow dogs on the terrace; flexible (we were able to have wine pairings with some but not all of the "surprise" menu dishes to accomodate our need to drive home). Beautiful live piano music all evening.Cons:despite reserving long in advance for the terrace they tried to put us inside and we had to "stand firm" - that's not cool. They seem to favour hotel guests (which we were not). Service was OK but a bit quirky, lots of different people, no clear who was in charge. Timing of wine service relative to dishes was off. Austria allows smoking on patios (BOO!), but it seems unreasonable to also let employees (piano player) smoke in the guest space. Food is not "experimental" which was fine for us but may matter to some.Dear cantravnut,Thank you very much for your constructive review. We will work on a better Team work in the Service, that your next visit will get an unforgettable one!We wish you all the best,Yours,Family Thiery
