Although it's only a 30-minute ferry crossing away from mainland Chile across the Chacao Channel, verdant Isla Chiloe – the largest in the Chiloe archipelago – is another world. Sixteen wooden churches clustered around Castro on the island's east coast have UNESCO World Heritage status, and traditional palafitos (houses on stilts) dot its shores. To the west, Chiloe National Park shelters foxes, sea lions and otters and provides unspoiled terrain for horseback riding, sea kayaking and fishing.

If you love seafood, then you can’t miss this place when you are in Castro. There’s also a lovely terrace that faces the water, offering a cosy and casual atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, with generous portion sizes. Being a seafood lover, there were so many appetising options on the menu that it was hard to make a decision. In the end, my Boyfriend and I decided to share a starter (tuna ceviche), which was delish; the tiny pieces of strawberries added a nice fresh contrast to the flavours. As for my main, I went for the seafood broth with clams, mussels, which was yumz, though the waiter recommended the crab gratin, which did sound appealing. My boyfriend had the mussels, which was delicious, though the accompanying fries weren’t that much, especially if you are used to having “moules and frites”, with lots of frites. Nonetheless, the food taste was excellent, and I would go back again the next time I’m ever in Castro!Wow, what a nice review. Thanks for so nice words! and for shared you experience with other customers.

The pizzas and owners are awesome. Even though this is not a restaurant (it does not have bathroom, and it has a single table), we were lucky enough to eat there. The pizzas were incredible, we came for 1 1/2 pizzas and ate 2 1/2 pizzas (yes, they were able to prepare us only half of a pizza). If you can not get the table order it and eat it in the main square. Honestly, it was a very good and nice surprise, one of the best restaurant of my trip (even though we were not looking for pizzas).
