Tijdens een fietstocht hier met een aantal vrienden gestopt.De ijskast eens goed bestudeert. Iedereen van onze groep nam een andere ijscoupe. De bestelling was toch snel gereed. Iedereen vond de ijscoupe lekker en smaakvol en mooi gepresenteerd. De bediening en prijs was ook goed. Echt een aanrader voor ijsliefhebbers.

sehr schöne (Sonnen)- Terasse, sehr freundliche Bedienung, alles sauber, gut besucht.Der Bacon-Burger war aber leider nur lauwarm und hat mir nicht so wirklich gut geschmeckt. M.E. wurde hier die Mikrowelle eingesetzt, weil der Hamburger relativ fest und das untere Brötchen etwas durchweicht war).

We were nearby and wanted some lunch so we headed over to brewery De Fontein. Had a tasting of 5 beers, selected by the staff. Good beers. Had some zuurvlees as well, tasted very good.If we're even near here again, we'll sure will be back

Het Terras Maasoever is voor ons de ontdekking van de eeuw! Enkele jaren terug kwamen we hier per toeval terrecht, en we zijn er nadien nog vaak naar teruggegaan. Als het weer goed is zit je daar heerlijk, in schaduw of zon, onder de bomen, met uitzicht op het water en het veerpontje dat heen en weer vaart tussen Belgisch- en Nederlands Limburg. Een mooie pleisterplaats voor fietsers en wandelaars, maar ook om zomaar even lekker te genieten. Er is voldoende parkeergelegenheid rondom.De menukaart is bescheiden, maar biedt erg lekkere dingen, zoals het boerenbrood met gesmolten brie en walnoten met honing... heerlijk! Alle soorten thee en koffie, met vlaai en ander gebak. Alles wordt geserveerd op/in ouderwets 'oma-servies'. De bediening is erg vriendelijk. Belangrijke pré: je kunt er pinnen. Zelfs de toiletten zijn gezellig, maar ook netjes en schoon. (Eén verbeterpunje aldaar: vervang het onhygienische badstoffen handdoekje door papier of een luchtblazer).

This restaurant is located in a side street of the central market place. But boy, is this a place to take a short stroll to. First of all, the reception. Very hearthy and open. Then, of course, there's the gargantuan number of whisk(e)ys on offer, most of them for very decent prices. And the owner gives excellent advice. Last but not least: the food is excellent. Extras for those who speak Dutch/Flemish: the interesting items posted in the toilets.Thank you so much for your fantastic review Pascal! Maybe someday, I will find some time to translate, next to our menu (already in English), also the toilet-items into English.

Hier beland rond lunchtijd tijdens een fietstocht. Fantastisch lekkere hamburgers (zowel de Aurora burger als de burger van kip) maar begin er niet aan als je niet razend van de honger bent . Stevige dorst is ook aan te raden, gezien de zeer uitgebreide bierkaart. Aanrader. En helemaal niet duur.

The place is not bad, certainly not expensive (rather cheap one could say) and normally the place is rather full for diner. The choices are not extensive, but good, quality of food is certainly good, although one could expect a bit more "finesse" in the plates, for example you'll always get a lot of sauce with the meat, normally served on the plate. Serving the sauce separately would certainly improve the standing. And they cold be a bit more friendly to strangers .... If you're not a regular customer (and from the same village) you will see and feel the difference.

Als je dan al groeten haalt, haal ze dan hier. Dit gewoon de beste friture in de regio. Mensen komen van ver om hier te eten. Dit is gewoon top , egaal hoe druk het is het gaat altijd vlot en altijd SUPER lekker. Service wordt hier nog met een grotere S geschreven dan in sommige restaurants. De keuze is goed en de prijzen reëel.

Al 2x gegeten in dit leuke restaurant. Heerlijk vriendelijke mensen, chef weet wat hij doet ! lekkere gerechten (2x al maandmenu gegeten), heel lekkere aangepaste wijnen. fantastisch zelfgemaakt brood.doe zo voort !

We went here with our family, including two kids, for a lunch. After searching the www for a while we accidentaly found 'De Poorterij' and decided to book there. Since we are all vegetarians it looked wise to do so. The hospitality and friendly service is sublime! The food is excellent, most of the vegetables are grown in their own garden. They vary from more known to 'forgotten veggies' and are served very attractive. For our kids it was sometimes a bit hard with all the new tastes but they still enjoyed almost everything. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and service. The guiding wines with the menu are delicious. We will definetely return.
