Bounded by the Karakoram and Himalayan mountains, Ladhak is the largest province in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The landscape of Ladhak, a high altitude desert, is defined by craggy, barren cliffs and plateaus. Ladhak is a favorite among adventure sports enthusiasts, offering unique adventures in trekking, mountaineering and white water rafting. While rafting options are available on both Indus and Zanskar rivers, the Zanskar course is more difficult and exciting. The trekking options range from short, day-long walks to visit monuments or monastic settlements to long, trans-mountain treks involving weeks of walking and camping in the wilderness. Ladhak celebrates a numbers of monastic festivals - annual events of the major monasteries primarily in winters. The month of September, hosts the Ladhak Festival, that gives a peek into the richness, depth and pageantry of Ladakh's centuries-old culture, traditions and folk heritage. One can witness the best samples of the region's performing arts, Archery contests and the Ladhak Polo Cup.

Comfortable stay. Rooms are decent sized. Very cordial and helpful staff and great views. Also 10 mins walk to main market. Food is okayish as in most guest houses in Ladakh. But option to a-la-carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good wifi connectivity as well.

The start of Leh Ladakh trip started with this terrible Stay at this hotel cum lodge. No service, no one to cater to or service or at the counter. The staff members are 2 kids- undeaged who are responsible to manage the entire operations. A 1 start property with zero to no basic amenities + no food options (the staff literally said that only Omlette is available for breakfast and nothing else will be offered; when argued - they made grill sandwiches for us) Overall 1 star as 0 wasn't an option

We offer clean comfortable accommodation set around the lovely courtyard full of flowers and fruit trees. Rooms with attached or common baths and dormitories are available. When you are staying with us we will serve you three vegetarian meals and evening tea, and you will also have access to daily guided meditation, instruction in yoga, the library with books and videos on Buddhist philosophy. etc.
Overall, the place is above average in terms of facilities and hospitality. The owner did help us plan trips and with other things which was good. The amenitites that are provided are minimal. The rooms itself could be cleaner. No signs on how to get to the place. Food is a rip off. Not worth the RCI tag at all.

Worst experience! Spoiled my tour!! I booked this hotel through Oyo rooms. Me and My wife checked into this hotel on 23Sep midnight around 11.55PM(we were late as we stuck beacuse of snowfall on our way) When we checked in into our room there are 4-5 boys having alcohol and cigarettes in open lobby area and our room was just attached to lobby. We avoided this part and moved to hotel room. Once we entered into the room it was all smell of smoke. However we ignored this part as we came to hotel after long tiring day. Now the problem starts when we saw the blankets which was so thin that we could never survive in a chilling weather of leh ladakh. I requested their owner named Azgar(name provided by him) for blankets then he started arguing with me that what do you expect in 1400Rs room. I constantly insisted him and tried to make him understand but he started shouting at me saying If you want to stay stay else leave the hotel and forcefully shut the door in front of me. I was helpless as the time was around 1am and leaving the hotel at this time with wife was not a good option. Somehow me and my wife stayed there without having a sleep. The issue doesn't end up here, in morning there was no light in hotel, no geyger for hot water. As the temp was 4-5 degree in Leh I asked owner to provide me hot water bucket for our morning basic need but he denied. When I asked him that I will complain of your hotel then he said do whatever you want to do and theaten me. He disrespectfully said us to leave the hotel. I would strongly suggest not to opt for this hotel if you want to make your trip memorable. Rest is on you!!!! Thank you!!!

Hunder Residency is located at the heart of beautiful Hunder village about 126 Km from Leh City and about 1km from Hunder Sand Dune, on the banks of Shyok River of Nubra Valley. Our residence is surrounded by beautiful agricultural fields and located at peaceful location of Hunder Village.
This hotel like many other hotels in Hunder are family owned and run. The owners stay close the property in the same compound. Though they are short staffed, they serve us with a very warm smile. The food here is very good - fresh from their organic farm and they serve only vegetarian food and sometimes eggs. The rooms are decent with a lovely sit out. They have wifi in the reception area but not in the rooms. Overall a great stay.

The phrase 'fact is stranger than fiction ' could have been coined for Tuktuk. A tiny region on the India-Pakistan border which was reclaimed by India from Pakistan as recently as 1971. Though geographically a part of the Lakdakh area, the predominantly Muslim population here identify themselves as a distinctively different community called 'Balti', with their own cuisine and traditions.
Excellent place to stay . I m very impressed by their services, they provide everything to their clients , whatever they want, so it is nice to visit here again, I can recommend this to everyone who are planning for a trip.
