Reviewed By tiggernortheastAll staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms very clean. Very comfortable beds, the best pillows I have ever slept on and fantastic shower. The only slight let down was breakfast which was quite basic and was served to you. Because of Covid you couldn’t self serve yourself to breakfast. We stayed just before Christmas and have re booked to stay early February.

Why in the world stay in Kehl when Strasbourg is five minutes away?
Reviewed By Paul RPlease read origial English The only reason to stay here is the affordable price. The hotel is located in a low rent neighborhood. No attractions. No view. No reason to visit. One kilometer away from the tram stop to Strasbourg. Hotel has theme-decorated rooms with minimal content. Cute but superficial Food is good - but hey - food is great in Strasbourg. Why dine here? Service has great room for improvement with servers reaching in front of guest to serve wine instead of walking around to serve from the right side. This is petta but for the price it is the least that yould be expected. My wife and I were Shanghaied into staying here by our frieds who raved about this place and its food. It was a great disappointment.

Perfect location for a stopover
Reviewed By 08091969Located in the centre of Kehl, close to the French border and Strasbourg, this hotel offers you the perfect accommodation either for a professional visit or a stopover to visit the touristic highlights. You'll get a proper room for a really comfortable amount and the room will be tidy and functional. The restaurant offers very good Italian food and the staff is absolutely friendly. The hotel "Zum Schwert" is the ideal place if your not looking for a luxery hotel but a clean and tidy bed for a reasonable price.

Reviewed By albertov844Dirty, really unacceptable, not able to understand where the 2 stars come from. I left the hotel after the first night having paid a second one. The worse hotel I have ever been at. Not recommended for anyone, as it is not even cheap for what you get.

OK if on business or pleasure but at a push
Reviewed By Kerry HIt's clean, the kitchenette behind false wardrobe doors is handy. However, the owner has a contract with towel providers which are harsh, thin, and not very absorbent. So if you do intend to stay here, bring your own bath towel. The breakfast is very good - self service with unlimited hot coffee and tea. But, the reception is manned only mornings for check-out and then two hours in the evening. If anything goes wrong outside these hours, you have to buzz on the intercom outside and await the arrival of the owner - you've locked yourself out of your room for instance. The wifi kept breaking down during our 10-day stay. It is handy for Strasbourg and is near some very good restaurants. All in all OK if you need a safe dry place to put your head down.
