Hostel that could be a three star hotel with good service and very clean rooms and bathrooms. We have rooms single and double rooms with white cotton linens and halads. Despite shower and toilets are shared it's very clean. Our rooms don't have windows and you can sleep well any time. LES Hostel has very good location in the center of city, close to attractions, restaraunts and bisness centers.

Reviewed By Alina Z1. Double rooms are 9000KZT, single 6000KZT 2. Super convenient location (near Abay station, plenty of cafes and coffee shops around) 3. Double rooms are quite spacious, we stayed at Moscow room, which had a big bed, a sofa, a table, TV, a wardrobe and AC. Some of the rooms are even bigger, some are slightly smaller (eg Paris room). The only downside - no windows. 4. Shared shower rooms, but all of them are cleaned after each use. 5. Good selection of breakfasts (included in the price) 6. Great service - the staff were super attentive and pleasant. Overall best value for money you can get in Almaty, highly recommended!

New Hostel in Almaty - Samal Hostel. The hostel is modern European accommodation for a comfortable stay for a reasonable price. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly atmosphere. The hostel is equipped with everything necessary for comfortable living. We give out bed-clothes, we change once a week. On the territory of the hostel is forbidden to drink alcohol.

Но приехав и прожив там один день, я бы променял любой другой отель на этот хостел. Жил с иностранцами, очень общительные и приятные люди, дружелюбные и добрые. Персонал прекрасный ) Улыбчивые и отзывчивые) Очень понравился этот хостел. Не жалею о том что жил в нем. Жалко что так мало))

Lonely Planet were right - it is excellent
Reviewed By Andy WI stayed a couple of nights in April, a quiet time of year. Standing outside the gate, does not look promising - but open that gate and a delightful property appears. Albina was indeed helpful e.g. arranging an early morning taxi to the bus station. The large dogs were friendly, once they had taken an initial look at me. I had a delightful private room upstairs - separate toilet and shower rooms were shared with one (?) other room. Easy to get to the centre and transport hubs - a few minutes walk from busy bus routes, or about 30-40 minutes walk. A very large supermarket was about 5 minutes walk over a railway bridge.

Good hostel, great location
Reviewed By DaveJK1981This hostel is within walking distance of all the major sights such as the Bayterek Tower and the presidential palace. It is also opposite the lovely Aray Park (and a Burger King). We stayed in the double room which was clean and cosy and the form also looked clean with curtains on each bed for privacy. The shared bathroom and shower facilities were fine although as we have not stopped in a hostel for a while we found these hard to get used to. The staff were also very helpful although Grandma was a little terrifying. The only issue was finding the hostel initially as it is not very obvious where the entrance is if you don't speak Russian or Kazakh. Look for door number 7!

Very comfortable and affordable stay in the center of Almaty
Reviewed By Daniel MThe hostel is a bit small but very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and keep it clean. Although I only stayed here for a week, at the end of the day I always felt I was coming home. The location is perfect in a quiet area of central Almaty, walking distance to pretty much anywhere. During the hot summer months they have AC, making it a relaxing place to take a cool break in the hot parts of the day. The only downside was the WIFI which doesn't support many devices, and in busy times is hard to connect to.

We have 3 dorms; 2 mixed (8 and 6 beds) 1 women's dorm (4 beds). We have a kitchen, laundry room, large common room and comfortable garden. We are located between Old and New Shymkent with many buses who come to Ryskulov Street (corner Baitursinov, in front of Hyper House and across the street from Altyn Kazyna hotel) We are on the street to the right of the hotel (looks like an alley 200M)

Reviewed By Rosemary PThe pictures on Tripadvisor need to be updated. The owner/manager has changed. Accommodation is in owner's house. I was made most welcome. Rose garden is lovely. Dorm beds are hard! There are just two thin quilts for mattresses. Hot showers, spacious, quiet. Kitchen available with microwave only. Breakfast extra. Very central.

An easy, affordable place to stay.
Reviewed By SkyferretClub Hostel is a great place to stay for those who are planning a cheap trip to Astana. The facilities are very clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, however, they do not speak English which could lead to some issues if asking complicated questions. When we stayed there were many locals staying too, which meant that the hostel was very loud until very late at night which could be an issue for some individuals. Overall, this is a great place to stay when wishing to visit a fantastic country and city!

Reviewed By Botakoz UI was very surpriced but this hostel is very good. Big bathroom, good and comfortable bed, big kitchen and the last floor of building. So you can enjoy the beutyful view of Astana during day and night.

Reviewed By Paul YI don't speak Russian，just travel to Silk Road and EU in June. I felt pleasant to stay there, good location, friendly staffs speaking English, good neighborhood, every day they give 20% discount card to eat at Dastarkhan Food, a self service restaurant nearby, reliable free wi-fi. Can save money,the relatively low price for Almaty. I like to go again.

It's Not Bad... but not Great either
Reviewed By Chris54354I didn’t have a good experience here. Firstly the man at reception overcharged me compared to what my online booking stated I had to pay. The rooms are dark and depressing and fairly cold. The toilets are small.
