Lovely place to stay
Reviewed By Anastasia_chtWe stayed in Ancestors Lodge during our 3 day safari. The lodge has a beautiful, big courtyard with the little houses around. The houses are comfortable and clean with a spacious bathroom. The mess for breakfast and dinner is big and has an upper floor with a panoramic view of Manyara lake. The stuff was friendly and helpful and willing to respond to all of our requests. When we needed WiFi they turned their mobile into a hotspot so we can connect and they even let us use their laptop. Even though we faced some issues with the electricity and the hot water, the stuff immediately fixed the problem. Undoubtedly, the highlight of our stay was the food. They carefully prepared for us hearty and delicious meals everyday and they always welcomed as with a refreshing juice and a hot wet towel to wash our hands. If you're looking for a good place to stay, choose Ancestors Lodge and you will not regret it!

Karatu Simba Lodge offers a slice of life only to be found in rural Tanzania. Located about a thirty-minute drive from the gate of Lake Manyara National Park, approximately four kilometres off the main road to the entry of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the lodge is situated next to the Ngorongoro Forest. Accommodation is in individual twin, double or triple cottages or rondavels with canvas walls and solid attached bathroom and shower, tastefully and simply decorated with hand made furniture of African hardwood. Each unit has its own deck with safari chairs for relaxing and viewing the pastoral setting. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in the common areas, an evening campfire and pool with views onto the forest. The lodge is eco-friendly with solar power and hot water and there is a well stocked bar and dining room serving food and coffee fresh from nearby plantations.

Reviewed By C00NYWe had an amazing stay at Karatu Simba Lodge. Especially the staff is very kind and helpful. Everything was very authentic - also the tented house was very clean and had a great view. Would definitely recommend this lodge!

Perfect stop on safari route
Reviewed By sam bLarge comfy rooms and set in a quiet, beautiful bamboo garden. Food was superb, and the staff, in particular Paul, were so welcoming and helpful. A perfect stop between Arusha and Ngorongoro, and very nearby Manyara national park. Hope to visit again.

African Sunrise Lodge & Campsite combines location, space and comfort with excellent game viewing in the nearby safari parks of Manyara, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. It was purpose-built with families in mind with 6 large cottages and four detached tents. At 1250 metres above sea level, Sunrise sits directly on the edge of the Great Rift Valley with nothing but panoramic views all around. The lodge is 30 minutes from the main gate of Manyara, 60 minutes from the main gates of Ngorongoro and one and a half hours from Tarangire. Sunrise is the perfect place for the family to relax and enjoy the beauty of Tanzania.
A hidden gem
Reviewed By laurawO3246FFWhat a lovely place! My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over the New Year and had a fantastic experience. Our room was perfect - clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and an amazing view of the rift valley. We awoke the first morning to birds singing and watched the sun rise over the mountains. A hearty breakfast was enjoyed while watching a troop of baboons moving along the edge of the escarpjment on a trail 20 metres from our room. After a day safari at Tarangire National Park we returned to African Sunrise for a really tasty dinner. Overall, the African Sunrise Lodge & Campsite was wonderful. The staff are friendly & super helpful (great service!), the rooms are clean & comfortable and the location is gorgeous. The food is excellent! If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay close to nature we highly recommend African Sunrise Lodge & Campsite. Note that thre Road in is a bit rough - the 6 km from the main paved road would be a challenge for a small car. We had a small SUV and were fine.

Reviewed By Iva TWe came to stay there just for one night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is totally amazing. Food completely delicious. As we had a problems with hired car, we stayed longer and all people here did their best to help us to sort is out and prepare us a pleasant stay. For me completely the best choice price/quality.

Luxury Lodge Very Quiet
Reviewed By Darnel-HDIThis lluxury lodge was booked for us by our Safari operator. It is located in Karatu and is about 15 minutes drive from main road to Ngorongoro crater. The bungalow rroom was very spacious and the bathroom was very luxury with shower and whirpooll bathtub. We stay during low season so there is no other guest and we feel very quiet. There is no wifi and no English News chanel. Although it is luxury I would prefer a crowd non luxury lodge.

Reviewed By 999oooCityI have never stayed in a nice place in my life! WOW Treated like Royalty while in the most beautiful nature undisturbed wild life. Gorgeous flowers wildly blooming all over the resort, I had a massage by the pools in the evening with the sounds of rainforest soothing and peaceful in my ear. Enjoying spectacular meals and the BEST coffee I have ever had (Which I learned came from across the view on the mountain. YEP I could see where my organic African coffee that I drank each morning was coming from! Not to mention Elephants grazed on the other cliff and at night the staff even came to my room on request while I was at dinner and had a real fire started for me to warm my lodge for my return. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE you should consider when visiting Ngorongoro Crater! The staff organized our adventure and we saw every animal thanks to our guide! Lucky enough to also see a black horn rhino (near extinction) Each day here feels so blessed and I was so thankful to have the pleasure to experience. Oh and I forgot to mention I made friends with a cute yellow bird who visited me in the morning at breakfast chirping away. By day two the cute lil guy was literally eating out of the palm of my hand! Not only was it a princess treatment by the staff, but I felt very much like snow white and one with nature! MUST VISIT and I HOPE ONE DAY TO SEE IT AGAIN!
