Bumps Cafe is a coffee house in Karatu, Tanzania, which is a small town just outside the gates to Ngorongoro Crater National Park. They offer American and African food, fresh coffee and pastries, and --perhaps most important to travelers-- maintain clean restrooms. They deserve a spot on TripAdvisor.

Ate here with my mom for lunch in March 2012. The sandwiches were good however don't expect to eat exactly what is advertised in the menu as whats available in the kitchen seems to change daily. There is a book exchange shelf (where I traded for some awesome reads) and an internet cafe.

The best chilling spot next Karatu! The Coffee Corner is one of the latest projects realized by The Rhotia Valley Foundation. The center provides a practical traineeship for young students enrolled at the Karatu Hotel Management School and prepare them for a job in the tourism sector. We believe that this serves both the needs of tourists looking for a quick stopover between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro as well as providing an intense learning experience for six students. Every day we serve nice Coffee & Cappuccino, Smoothies, Salad, Snacks, Hot dishes & much more! We prepare also lunch boxes. Relax and spend your coffee break enjoying the splendid view from our Terrace! Free Wi-Fi!

15 mins from Karatu, this newly opened gem is the ideal lunch option on your way to/from Ngorongoro.
It is a beautifully decorated place (from Terrace to toilet!) overlooking Rhotia valley. The coffee is delicious, and the food even more so. Everything is freshly prepared, and they literally pluck the herbs and greens for your salad from under your nose. Apart from cakes and salads, there are a few main courses and some hearty snacks on the menu - all of those are of a much more superior quality and taste than what most comparable places in Arusha are offering. You may also savour one of the fresh juices made from organic vegetables and fruit grown on the farm. It's all excellent value for money.
The young staff are very welcoming, charming and enthusiastic.

Stayed here for three days while we were on safari. The place was amazing, nice quiet atmosphere, the bungalow we stayed in was big, nice beds, nice bathroom. Only thing I missed was an a la carte dinner menu. They waiter staff, went around the table serving everyone with the food of the day. But otherwise it was a very lovely hotel. And there was only WiFi in the hotel lobby.

On the road to Ngorongoro Crater you can find this excellent coffee restaurant. It stood out to us, because in contrast to the rest of the buildings this restaurant was new, freshly painted and clean.
The owners are friendly and speak good English. All sorts of coffee are prepared by a real barista. Since we like to drink a good coffee in the morning, it was a good choice to stay here for a short stop.
We also bought some local coffeebeans for a fair price compared to the nearby tourist shops.
