There are many Grandma's restaurants in Zhejiang province, and Jiaxing is lucky enough to have one. In Hangzhou, the lines at Grandmas can mean waits of two hours or more on weekends. In Jiaxing, the longest I've waited is about thirty minutes or so.
The food is distinctly Chinese, and the selection is huge. From DongBei to Sichuan, Grandmas has something for everyone. Seriously, we've been there lots of times and I think we've tried twenty five percent of the menu.
One of the best parts about Grandma's is the prices; you can take a large group, eat gluttonously and still walk away with a bill of less than 300RMB.
The only issue is that it is hard to eat here singly; portions are served family style so one or two people have a hard time ordering a large selection of items.

住在附近的逸林，来吃晚饭。干锅牛蛙味道不错，再加上其他菜六人（两个小朋友）一共三百，价格实惠。38一斤的青岩五味酒味道很好，菜泡饭味道好，这家人不多不少，晚饭不用排队，基本能坐个九成。这个地方是有很多饭店，生意差距巨大，有的关门，有的爆棚。明天去试试其他家。

it smells bad at first.. but once you started, it's kind hard to stop eating it. plenty of stalls with the same name selling the same smelly toufu.

Seriously, Xing Ba Ke is the Chinese name for Starbucks, and this location is the second Starbucks to bless Jiaxing, which is pretty awesome. Nothing beats an espresso when you've spent the day on the road visiting suppliers.
As with all Starbucks its a great place sit down and get some work done.
Lastly, in a city that is not known for its gourmet cuisine, Starbucks has given Jiaxing some pretty solid food options. Sandwiches, wraps, and other western fare that you would have a hard time finding at any other local restaurant.

I love their cocktails, love the whiskeys, service is great and very helpful staff!
I went there after dinner at the Malaysian restaurant which is just in front.
The playlists are surprisingly good, international music and no crazy loud Chinese stuff. It is nice to have a place where you can actually talk and drink...

Patty is offers authentic north American cuisine. The guacamole was awesome, and I really enjoyed the Buffalo wings. If you are craving the taste of home while you were staying in the heart of China, stopping by at patties is a great idea. They even have American rock ‘n’ roll playing on the jukebox.
