Packed to the gills with antique silver, porcelain and furniture, the red sandstone Brodick Castle is one of the highlights of the Isle of Arran. The castle overlooks Goatfell, a majestic hill that’s a popular day hike. The Machrie Moor stone circles make for a mystical field trip, as does a tour of The Arran Malt whisky distillery.

At the heart of the beautiful isle of Arran lies the multi-award winning, family owned Auchrannie Resort. Auchrannie now consists of two four star hotels; the romantic and relaxing ‘House Hotel’ catering for couples and those wanting a more intimate experience whilst the contemporary ‘Spa Resort’ is popular with families and those prefer a more modern feel to their surroundings. In addition, the resort features 30 five-star self-catering lodges (sleeping up to 8 in total luxury and therefore perfect for the extended family), 3 outstanding, award winning restaurants and bars, 2 leisure centres both with pools, destination spa featuring treatments by ESPA and Ishga and an outdoor adventure centre. Arran is Scotland’s most accessible islands, often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature” due to the dramatic contrast between the hills and mountains in the north, and sweeping moorlands on the south of the island. A short 55 minute ferry journey off the Ayrshire coast, Arran is easily reachable by those arriving into any of central Scotland’s main airports as well as those travelling by car, train and coach. Whilst many tourists arrive on the island simply to kick back and relax, the island is packed with attractions and sights for visitors of all ages.
It's been a few years since we were last here and the Covid screens were up in the restaurant in light of the rules in play. The hotel was very quiet which seemed rather strange as just before Christmas. Nevertheless we were able to enjoy our stay and had the pool almost to ourselves. The room was clean and comfortable and food was fine.

Boutique Hotel with beautiful panoramic views over Brodick bay and Goatfell, a stone's throw away from the ferry terminal. The Douglas Hotel is the focal point for the village and an ideal base for the discerning traveller. Offering a personalised level of service in luxury and comfort, the knowledgeable Douglas Hotel staff will ensure access to the huge variety of activities available on Arran, whether they be sporting, cultural or historical. Super friendly and already multi award winning, no expense has been spared in creating the unique feel of ‘home away from home’ whilst adding a touch of modern luxury. With complimentary wi-fi internet access throughout, the hotel is located (quite literally) a stone’s throw from the ferry - there really is no need to bring your car.
The rooms are superb, food delicious and staff fantastic. My husband hurt his back on the first day, we were moved to an accessible room with walk in shower. The food each night was first class. All the staff are so pleasant and helpful. The views from the hotel are great. Perfect location and first class service. Well done team Douglas. Would happily recommend this hotel.

This charming, ancient island inn is now an award-winning boutique hotel. Nestled in the charming village of Lamlash the hotel boasts one of the most beautiful locations on the Isle of Arran; looking across Lamlash Bay toward the Holy Isle which rises 1,000 feet out of the sea. The Glenisle was honoured at the 2011 Scottish Hotel Awards, scooping up a Gold Medal for hospitality as well as the prestigious Rising Star Small Hotel award. Once you have experienced Arran from the comfort of the Glenisle Hotel you might find yourself, like so many others, coming back year after year for a regular break which both relaxes and revitalises.
My husband and I took our one year old for our first family trip to Arran. The hotel was perfect and the staff were really helpful, personable and they were good with our daughter. The hotel has a beautiful garden with established plants. There is a selection of kids toys at the back so that they are amused while we enjoyed some wine. The food was lovely and the cheese board was amazing. We took our car but also got the bus on one occasion as you can get that just outside of the hotel. The stand along bath is situated right in front of the window so that you can have a lovely bubble bath overlooking the beautiful bay. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Arran. Thanks to all of the staff for making our trip so lovely.

We sampled the hospitality of the Corrie Hotel at a recent family birthday. The now much improved hotel offers a relaxed environment with attentive staff. Our party of 9 were treated to excellent food and good service. Although a bit pricey the experience was very positive.

Located in the beautiful village of Whiting Bay on the Isle of Arran, the Burlington is the perfect destination for your next holiday! Enjoy our spectacular beach front views, only 15 minutes drive from Brodick. Our cosy 10 bedroom Guest House provides a great base to explore all that Arran has to offer. All room rates are inclusive of bed + breakfast and our seasonal in-house restaurant, Duncan's, is open to both guests and the public.
The Burlington Guest House was a comfortable and clean place to stay with gorgeous views and a quiet atmosphere. But the thing that sets it apart from any other accommodations during our trip to England and Scotland was Duncan! Incredible!

The Lagg makes for a great stopover while exploring Arran. The rooms are clean, cosy and the bathrooms have Arran products too. I slept like a top! Owners Peter and Mary are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. We loved our stay here and would recommend it highly!

As winner of the prestigious Green Tourism Business Goldstar Award 2011, Lochranza Youth Hostel is ranked as one of the UKs top ten greenest businesses. Lochranza Youth Hostel offers excellent budget and group accommodation but is also family friendly with private en-suite rooms, a spacious self-catering kitchen and laundry service available. Lochranza Youth Hostel is situated on the banks of Loch Ranza, opposite a 13th-century ruined castle in beautiful countryside. The youth hostel is also located on the Cock of Arran trail, which provides a beautifully scenic low level trek. The youth hostel garden is a great spot to watch wildlife, including red deer, red squirrel, grey seals, otters and golden eagles. Lochranza Youth Hostel benefits from a great bus connection and the bus stop is only 5 minutes walk away. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Stayed for three nights while hiking in Arran. The staff here are lovely; helpful, friendly and chatty. The facilities are excellent with plenty of kitchen space, clean quiet rooms and good information points to help you make the most of your visit to this beautiful island.

Lochranza is a quiet peaceful village on Arran. We went to visit the Arran distillery and to do some walking. The Butt Lodge is a beautiful home and our room was spacious, very comfortable and decorated very nicely. Dinner at the Butt Lodge our 1st night did not disappoint and breakfast was equally as good. Cath & Mac are friendly and welcoming to their guests. I highly recommend anyone wanted to experience Arran to stay at the Butt Lodge!
