..don't run a well-located, potentially busy place to eat. Went for a walk to Teufelskanzel with a couple of friends a saturday around noon. The not so small lodge looked like a nice place for a break..but the first member of staff we met was not only rude - he was busy and agressive. We can deal with busy..patience to wait we have plenty of.. but I don't pay money to someone that unwelcoming. We left - as did many others we met. Chased away by staff!Leider ist uns zu Ihnen kein Kontakt bekannt.

Dinner here was one of the best evenings we had in Germany. The entertainment was wonderful and included the diners which created a fun atmosphere. The staff is excellent, I requested sweet wine, the choice the waitress brought me was so good I think I drank the whole bottle. After dinner different varieties of their schnapps were served. I went with the excellent Elderberry Schnapps and was able to purchase a bottle to take home. My only regret is not being able to spend the night. I highly recommend spending an evening here.

Visiting family in the area, this place was recommended by our local family but also other family members who had previously come here.This is a family-run business they make organic sausages, cheeses, their own bread, jams etc etc. They have six guest rooms in a new (3 year old) house above their sausage storage room (you can see sausages aging through two windows - very cool). The rooms are nicely set up, clean, with a small bar fridge. Great modern bathrooms. Owners and staff are very friendly, for breakfast you are served their own cheeses and meats, buns and homemade jams. You do need to tell them the day before when you plan to be down for breakfast so they are ready for you, though the one morning we forgot, they scrambled and accommodated us just fine. We did not eat dinner here, though our family say they have very good dinners also (they are not open every night according to their literature, so check ahead before you come).This is a small small town, in an area with many historic Fachwerkhaeuser.

Die Köchin hat 38 Jahre Erfahrung, das merkt man. Die Portionen sind i.g.u.g. ganz ordentlich, die Getränkepreise zivil. Die Torten aus eigener Produktion sind hervorragend. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut.

Sonntag zur Mittagsstund auf der Terrasse gab es nach Handwaschung am Tisch und Vorlesung der mittelalterlichen Essensregeln eine Portion Brot mit Kräuterbutter und Schmalz vor dem ausgesprochen schmackhaften Hauptgericht 'Behn vom wilden Has' bestehend aus Hasenkeule, Pilze Bratapfel, Rotkohl, Erbsen und Zwetschgenknödel. Selten so schmackhaft gegessen! Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen selbst gemachten Aufgesetzten. Auch sehr lecker! Wenn ich hier wohnen würde, wäre das mein Stammlokal.

Hier kann man gut einkehren, wenn man ein oder mehrere Gläser Wein trinken möchte. Alles hat die Patina vergangener Tage, aber gerade das macht einen Besuch in dieser Gaststätte aus. Dazu trägt auch die Musikbox bei, ermöglicht sie doch die Auswahl von Songs zwischen Boney M, Abba und M.Rosenberg-

We were 15 there. Ordering took a bit of time. But food came relatively soon. Food quality is above level. Only our friend likes normal potatoes (instead of fried kind), the waiter insisted that she should wait for 1-2hours. Other than that, it's a good place to come back again.

Weltstädtische Atmosphäre, damit hätte ich in Allendorf nicht gerechnet. Und doch war es so: internationale Gäste, ein versierter Service, leckere und überraschende Gerichte, eine Restaurantleiterin mit Ausstrahlung. Unser groÃer Hund wurde richtig eingeschätzt und bekam nicht das Wasserschälchen, sondern gleich den 5-Liter-Eimer- toll!Daneben sitzt man (im Sommer) wunderbar drauÃen, abgeschirmt mit Grünpflanzen , und zugleich mit schönem Blick auf den zentralen Platz von Allendorf mit Brunnen und Fachwerkhäusern. Erwähnenswert: Donnerstag gibt es eine zusätzliche Burgerkarte (auch in superleckerer vegetarischer Variante). Und Whiskys gibt es in gröÃerer Auswahl.

Anlässlich einer Fahrradtour an der Werra speisten wir im Restaurant Quitte und wurden sehr herzlich begrüÃt. Wir wählten das 5 Gang Menue zusammen mit einer Flasche Pinot Grigio und wurden wahrlich nicht enttäuscht.Nach 2 !! GrüÃen aus der Küche gab es eine Vorspeisenvariation u.a. mit Törtchen von der Bachforelle - Roulade vom Wildlachs - Basilikumsorbet --> sehr gelungendanach ein Kartoffelsüppchen & ein Kurbissüppchen --> sehr gut gefolgt von gebratenem Saibling auf Cous-Cous mit Safran --> ebenfalls sehr gutdann Agnus Steak auf Püree mit Thymian Jus und Austernpilzen --> hervorragendals Nachtisch ein Schokoladenküchlein - Passionsfruchtsorbet - Apfelchutney -- leckerRund herum zufrieden verlieÃen wir die Quitte nach 3 Stunden und kommen sicherlich gerne wieder.
