The owner/host was very helpful with suggestions about things to do locally. Wifi was erratic but otherwise faultless. The breakfast was good, especially the home baked bread!

The Hotel St Clemens is located in the inner city of Visby, inside the city walls. The hotel consists of five historical buildings next to the Botanical Garden and the cathedral. It is Gotland’s first environmentally labeled hotel, offering three-star accommodation. All rooms are non-smoking, with their own shower, toilet, TV and wireless Internet. The Loveliest Staff, Cozy Environment
Reviewed By lesmadLoved the warmth and kindness of the staff here. They made me feel welcome each moment, like part of the family. I booked a small room and they saw my luggage and gave me a large comfortable room. If you don't want to look out floor level on a car park with people talking late into the night, I would ask to be somewhere more quiet. Otherwise everything is there. Beautiful and stylish environs with Antique furniture, a desk to work at and very well thought out bathrooms. Coffee and tea at reception. A nice breakfast and almost fairytale yard with St. Clemens church ruin is right there. If you are planning a cozy trip with your spouse or a nice family vacation, this is a wonderful place.

Reviewed By lesmadWe stayed here for four days in May. The rooms are mixed some nicer than others. Our first room was uncomfortable. It was supposed to be a superior but with a wooden and a little half chair, there was no place to sit. We ended up in a suite, which looked quite luxurious and the bed was divine and the view from our high up room was amazing. But the little things made the stay somewhat uncomfortable like a basic lack of service, the phone often was not picked up. The tea kettle had no sugar, so we were out looking for that. No plug in the bathroom to dry your hair. These are not small problems when you are relaxed and trying to work or go out. Finally, the hotel has no room service at all, OK that's fine but they really should have basic service. Neighboring hotels have little cafes and restaurants. The Kitchen & Table is small, so getting reservations there same day is not easy any time in summer.

Reviewed By inho59It was quite expensive, but the room was not up to that. Broken items, no bed table. Plus for breakfast from six o’clock on a Saturday, but the person in charge made you feel as if you were in a boarding school. Very noisy from the harbour.

Reviewed By G9235GJpaulacWe’ve stayed with our teenage daughters for 5 nights while visiting my in-laws. Staff were super nice and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. Because of being autumn we didn’t get to try the pool and breakfast was minimal during the week days but still healthy and good enough for us. Proper continental breakfast in weekend. Location is beautiful.

The view over the park area Almedalen is wonderful and you can also see the sea from some of the rooms. In Visby you find many entertainments, restaurants and culture at a walking distance.We hope that you will enjoy the warmth and the cosiness and make you feel at home while staying here - even though you are far away from your home. We believe that our guests choose to stay here because the hotel is small with a personal touch. All of our 20 individually designed rooms have bathrooms with tiles on the walls and Gotlandic marble flooring.
A lovely clean Hotel, almost perfect!
Reviewed By lesmadThe Kalk is a lovely, clean hotel, with nice views of the sea from some rooms. The staff is warm and helpful and the breakfast wonderful, with a chance to have a crispy Swedish waffle. Only a few things keep it from being perfect. The rooms have tea kettles but not a selection of teas, nor is there any sugar or sweetener. Also there are no tissues of any sort. You will need to use your own. Though the staff is wonderful, it feels as if there should be one more person on duty. The desk and room service - which is made in their kitchen (I suggest the beetroot salad, which was delicious) -all ends at 6pm, which means the one person on duty is very busy indeed. Otherwise the hotel is very nearly perfect.

Reviewed By dgjohanssonI would probably not stay here again if I could choose. Rooms are in need of a renovation and everything feels a bit runed down. Sure, it is just outside the wall, but sort of in the wrong end of town. It is close to the ferry port and they boast with a sea view (barely visible in reality). Breakfast is as usual excellent, but almost every Swedish Hotel pulls this off, so this also is average. Free parking on the street (quickly full) and a fee subjected parking lot on the back side of the hotel.

A first class hotel with a service minded staff and environmental certification. The hotel is located in the middle of the town, near the sea inside the city wall of the World Heritage Town of Visby. When I entered my room I was met with a terrible stench, which luckily went away after having the window open the entire day. The beds was very soft, and pillows was very soft as well. The breakfast was also mediocre. Only nice things was the reception and the location!
