Reviewed By YenHao-TSilu Inn is really close to Echo Sand Mt.,just less than 10 minutes walk.And from downtown,it's not hard to get to the hostel,just take No.3 bus and to the stop which is one stop before the terminal,or you could just tell the driver the name of the hostel. As to environment,quiet,of course.Beds are clean and you can see the owners wash the bed sets every single time they'd been used.For toilets and showers,there are some weird smells in the toilets,seems like due to the weak drainage.Lobby is cozy,and if you want,free laundry is served on the 2nd floor. As to the owners,I could tell they really want to make this place better and they have plans to do everything.Unlike most of the hostels I've stayed,this is one of the hostel makes me feel the owners are around you and eager to solve all the problems you have. In total,this is a hostel with passions.Hope they will fulfill their dreams and keep going on what they love to do.

Reviewed By John SThere are a lot of things wrong with this place, it's is in dire need of a face lift especially the toilets, the noise from the birds in the morning is terrible and you will frequently be unable to find anyone. On the other hand however the location is great, it's right next to the dunes and moon lake area, the beds are comfy and warm. Wifi is stable. There are a nice collection of restaurants and bars if you walk further up the road with the dune entrance on it. Charley will sort out excellent camel tours at a moments notice. His café in town does good food (Good vegetable options) and lets you store your bags. Most importantly Charley is a really nice guy and you'll soon realise that the reason he keeps going missing is that he is usually driving people back and forward free of charge and sorting out tours. Ask him first but both him and the other workers were perfectly happy for me to grab a beer (ice cold) or water from the fridge in the courtyard if I couldn't find anyone around and pay them when they got back.

WOHOOO! CHEAP PRICE!
Reviewed By lunatic009Only 19rmb per night of the dorm. Toilets are bit dirty, full of sands and hair on the ground. But if you stay in here, you may get all the informations easily. What can you expect when you pay for only 19rmb for one night? I think this can fulfill my enquiry.

Try to avoid - no maintenance done since the 60's
Reviewed By dmellingerNo English speaking staff that I met in a 4-day stay. No towels. No keys for dorm rooms None of the bunk reading lights worked. Hardest bed I have had in a long time. When leaving for the early bus, door stuck and would not open without assistance. Low water pressure in showers. Two of four showers on 2nd floor were not functional. Communal toilets - right next to each other so you can hear your neighbor. This is about my 8th hostel in China, and bar far the worst I have been in. General overall maintenance has been lacking for a long time. It is a shame as it has a nice wood interior.

Reviewed By sunchu-☆３泊３人で一部屋に宿泊しました。なかなか広い部屋でベット同士の間が離れていたので広く感じました。シャワーのお湯湯量もたっぷり☆ロビーと中庭も広くwifiを使って調べ物が出来ました。屋上には洗濯出来る場所があり、便利でした。ユースの近くには沙州市場があり朝から晩まで食べるお店がたくさんあります。朝はこちらでお粥やマントウを食べました。夜になると屋台が並び、お土産がたくさん買えます。鳴砂山と莫高窟へは小さなバスで簡単に行けます。市場でフルーツを買って行きました。ユースにてヤルダン公園などへの一日タクシーチャーター４００元を申し込みました☆とても楽しかったです☆ユースの方はたくさん話かけてきてくれて楽しかったです。楽しい旅になりました。

Right in the middle of the downtown
Reviewed By soh_kien_pengThe location is excellent, right in the middle of the Shazhou Market of Dunhuang Downtown. The shuttle bus terminal to the Dunhuang Train Station is just opposite the road from the Shazhou Market and the bus to the Minsha Shan attraction is just behind this hostel. Eateries and shops are abundant and within walking distance of this Shazhou Market. I was in Dunhuang for 2 nights. When I came to Dunhuang, my first thing was to visit the Mogao Caves which was within a short walking distance from the train station. After the visit to Mogao Caves, I took the shuttle bus from the train station to the downtown. I alighted at the bus terminal, crossed the road to Shazhou Market and found my way to this hostel. In front of the hostel were many stall carts selling all kinds of souvenirs and food. The search was quite easy. The hostel's signboard is also visibly display at the front. The ground floor of the hostel is a shop selling dry fruits, also owned by the owner. The dormitory is at the upper floor. Filtered drinking water is provided free. The metal framed bed creaked noisily when you turned and only the bed's heating element is provided. It is extremely cold in Dunhuang at night. The environment is, however, peaceful and quiet. Both the boss and his wife are helpful and courteous. The dormitory bed cost RMB30 for a night which I booked through booking.com. The first public bus to the train station from the downtown commenced at 6.45 am and it is only a 5-min walk from this hostel to the bus terminus. The bus fare to the train station is RMB3. It is just so convenient to explore Dunhuang if your hostel is located in the downtown. If you decide to choose your hostel at the vicinity of the Mingsha Shan, the first public bus will only arrive at 8.30 or 9 am and you would have to take a cab to the train station if your train schedule is 7 to 9 am and may cost you between 30 and 40 RMB to take a cab there. As far as I am concerned, the cost of the accommodation is reasonably cheap and the location of the hostel is very centralized and convenient. The owner is also helpful. I will stay here again if I return to Dunhuang.

Reviewed By 小宇_Sylvia老板人非常热情，刚到的时候身上没有现金了，不知道哪有银行。直接帮我支付宝套现，然后自己跑去银行取现金。他还是大西北百事通，不仅非常熟悉甘肃，新疆的各个线路都可以帮你规划。还可以在厨房自己做东西吃，暑假的时候老板娘在，她下厨做的东西更好吃，交点搭伙的钱就好了。青年旅社是在警察局边上开的，所以非常安全。
