Galway Hotels | Places to Stay in Galway

August 6, 2022 Milan Banda

For visitors, the best thing about Galway is that you can walk everywhere. As soon as you arrive, enjoy a walk through the city streets. There, you'll find lively pubs, independent shops and winding cobblestone streets packed with students, artists, writers and craftspeople. You may even hear Gaelic spoken. For a day trip, take a ferry to the island of Inis Mor. You'll return refreshed by the ocean air and Inis Mor's breathtaking scenery. Oh, and be sure to wear sunscreen on the island, no matter how chilly it is. (Just trust us, okay?)

Decent, but Dark and Warm

Reviewed By Rebecca B

This hotel updated and well-located. The reception could have been more welcoming and the pictures didn't reflect the room we were provided. The room had small windows and no air conditioning. This meant the room was dark and warm. We called down several times to figure out how to make the room cooler and a fan was finally sent up. Turns out, the promotional photos showing large bright windows are not of a reception or common area, as we had believed, but are of an apartment you can rent. The restaurant is, likewise, fairly dark. Overall, this place is well-located and has convenient parking, but I don't believe the trade off of being dark, warm, and not so friendly was worth it.

Lovely building, interior needing attention

Reviewed By Voyage46977262744

It is ‘ok’. In our opinion a bit of refurb is needed. The carpets looked tired, the curtains were hanging off the hooks and the bedding needed a bit of colour coordination. Ok it’s all down to taste, however when you spend +£200 per night you do expect a little more. Front of house staff were great, especially the waitress that served us dinner and breakfast. However food service was slow and to be fair not great. Edible yes, tasty not.

Hyde Hotel - Great Location

Reviewed By Soltrip71

I was able to book this hotel for under $200, which was surprising, considering we couldn’t find anything under $250 for an additional night. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was actually pretty tasty and had a variety of options. The room was comfortable and had a cute little patio to sit and have your morning coffee/tea. We couldn’t have asked for a better location either. Close to the bus station and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, Eyre Square, and the harbor. I would definitely recommend.
