Had dinner there. The service is excellent and the food delicious. This is a fresh fish restaurant, they bring a selection of freshly caught fish on a tray, you choose your fish and they barbecue it for you. Comes with cold slaw and garlic bread. The smoked Marlin salad is delicious.Great friendly service and excellent food. A must if you are in the area. Yum.

Start every day of your stay on the exclusive Fragipani Island with a breakfast at Republik either continental with fresh juices, wonder fruit, meats etc - or an exclusive beachside à la carte breakfast, - the views are amazing and the picturesque Trou D’eau Doce Bay is in the distance, here you will experience first hand wonderful Mauritian service and Asian hospitality. Also a great place for a long leisurely lunch whilst gazing across the Indian Ocean, and back again for the wonderful cocktail hour late afternoon on the beach, where Ravi and his team will serve whatever you desire to drink.Dining here at night takes on a total different feel, the palm trees have fabulous colourful lighting, sit back and try and decide what to order, everything is totally delicious and the wine menu is extensive. Saturday night here is BBQ night, where there is a great choice of either BBQ meats/prawns/lobster cooked before your very eyes, plus a DJ with great music. To dine here at night is total paradise brilliant service - wonderful food/wine you never want it to end.

Moises- Grilled Chicken and Fish

I just need to share this address. During our vacations in a holiday house in Trou d'eau Douce, we asked for a recommendation where to dine fresh fish. From 3 different people (inhabitants of the village), we got the information to go to Moises barbecue (it sounds like "Mois"). It was a bit difficult to find it as there's no advertisement, but everybody in town knows him. He is a fisherman and owns a boat company. I assume that in his local there is a fish cooperative but I'm not quite sure. Already 500 m away one can smell the delicious grilled chicken. The restaurant is more "to go" than "to stay", because the organization of the two unique waiters was catastrophe :)) We had lots of fun how we tried 2-3 times to place our order, or even get the menu and the waiter took several times his mobile phone to chat. But the recommendations were so convincing that we ignored these disappointing behaviors. Finally, with a hunger of a lion we approached the "barbecue man" and without menu or any information about the prices, he placed a portion of barbecued chicken on our table. Oh surprise. It was soooo delicious that we ordered right away a second portion. Then the boss (Mr. Moises) arrived and he made us clear we could also order grilled fish of the day. We ordered then a "capitain" filet. It was so fresh and so soft like butter!! Both chicken and fish were accompanied either by cabbage-carrot salad or garlic bread. This was one of the simplest dine locals visited during our holidays but one of the most tasty ones. We had lots of fun there while waiting but the wait was worthy. Just for your own sake, ask for the menu and the price list in forehand. By the way... the address of this restaurant is the same of the Falcon Boats. falconboats.mu

The Deer Hunter

Located in the clubhouse of the Legend golf course, the restaurant enjoys a superb view of the 18th hole greens while the Java deer can be seen roaming around. Offering traditional cuisine of the Indian Ocean, in an authentic dining ambience, Deer Hunter

In a very short period of time, the Deerhunter had jumped from being ranked 17th best in Mauritius to one of the top 5 restaurants in the country. Having spent a delightful evening there, we were able to understand why. The ambience is truly captivating since it’s the nineteenth hole of an adjoining golf course. Although we went there after dark, and couldn’t see past the 18th hole, we got a sense of how much more attractive it would be look in daylight. Our table was charmingly set under a large parasol, overlooking a water body. The sommeliere charmed us into trying out the local lychee wine which we thoroughly enjoyed as well as some of the other wines on their excellent wine list. The chef, the maitre d’ and the serving staff went out of the way to ensure a tasty and sumptuous vegan meal for us. It was a special occasion (my wife’s 60th birthday) for us and the Deerhunter made us feel it was the perfect choice of venue for the occasion. No wonder they’re rated No 1 of 90 restaurants in Mauritius. Fine Dining at its finest!
