Reviewed By mewall21Stayed in the new section of the hotel. It was clean, quiet and had a good full breakfast buffet. I only wish the hotel could have accommodate me. I accidentally booked the wrong date and the hotel didn’t permit the reservation to be changed to the very next day.

The common areas and rooms were clean and the location was excellent - easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Less charm (and more add-ons for extra money, like breakfast and parking) than some other German hotels, but for a chain it was a solid choice.

Very good stopover for travelers
Reviewed By nferna812802We were driving from Poland towards Portugal and we needed to rest. Booking was very easy and rate was pretty fair for our goals. I really enjoyed and advise this hotel and its staff. Breakfast was very good but it costs 11EUR/pax, which I consider too expensive.

The Wintergarden, the event and banqueting rooms “Wieland”, the hotel bar, the lobby and the traditional restaurant “Zum Alten Schwan” were given a completely new look. The harmonious color concept and a clear design language underline the special character of the hotel. All renovation measures were individually tailored to the character of the hotel. A very special highlight of our hotel are the 6 rooms directly on the historic Krämerbrücke. The new created ambience invites you to linger and enjoy.
Nice 4-star hotel in brilliant location
Reviewed By Froggy2DenmarkThere is no better location in Erfurt than the Krämerbrucke Hotel. It's as simple as that. It is smack in the centre of the old city and next-door neighbour to the iconic Krämerbrücke. You step out the door and you're right in the middle of the square in front of the bridge with great atmosphere and crowds of people enjoying a beer or a meal. It is a little odd to have this very modern hotel in the middle of all the old buildings but it means you can stay in absolute comfort and be right in the middle of everything. There is a fair bit of noise from all the activities in the square in the evening, but with the windows closed it is not a problem. We had the windows open because it was in July and warm, and the noise didn't bother us. It's part of the atmosphere. We had booked a double room with a view to the Krämerbrücke. We had room no. 318 on the top floor. You can see the Augustine Monastery, the square, and the Krämerbrücke from the room but to see the Krämerbrücke you have to lean out a bit. The windows are not large. But it is nice and certainly better than a view to one of the narrow streets or the back of the hotel. There are many mirrors in the room which is nice and some nice lighting details. There are small lights next to the bed with sensors that turn on automatically so if you get up in the night you have these small lights to guide you. The bathroom is not large but very nice and modern. The breakfast was amazing – a huge selection of cold and hot dishes – everything you can imagine. Driving to the hotel is doable but the cobbled streets are extremely narrow. There is hotel parking at road level at the side of the hotel and also a parking basement below the hotel. Both are quite narrow and get tightly packed. But at least you can bring your car. In summary, this is a very comfortable hotel in the best possible location in Erfurt.

Expensive and noisy rooms
Reviewed By Melissa MThe bed is confortable, the hotel is really close to the train station. The TV from the room beside it was exactly in the wall of my bed. I couldn't sleep listening to the noise of the other room's TV. Really really unpleasant and stressfull. For the price of this hotel, this should not happen. And, different of other hotels where I've been in 32 different contries, they charged me for 2 hours earlier checkin. Whenever I went before the hotel staff were really kind and never charged me when they already had rooms available earlier. I wouldn't stay here again.

To call the reception from the room is impossible- you have to always personally come down and talk to them in person. which takes a time because the hotel is huge. This is obviously the main hotel in Erfurt which leads the management to believe that they can effort everything. Room not being made at all ( we haven’t been told by the reception that allegedly because of Corona ( sic!) you have to tell the reception by 10 AM at the latest (!) that you actually would like to have a clean room. Only vaccinated guests are allowed and the scientific results available are clearly evidencing that this “Corona reasoning” is just an excuse for significant understaffed personal. Erfurt is such a beautiful city with nice people. If you would like yo spent nice time here chose another hotel.

Getting the various pages to present in English is the first hurdle. However, it was worth it . I booked an apartment on the third floor. It was just great….. lovely and well-equipped kitchen and bath, living room, dining area. Very clean and all updated. Super quiet. The reception staff was helpful and pleasant. The location was very convenient within walking distance of the sights, train station (10 minutes), and a shopping center on Anger with everything you might need. I wouldn’t bother with their restaurant. It’s pretentious and the food isn’t worth the money. I would very readily stay here again in an apartment.

Reviewed By jldawson45Extremely comfortable and not noisy, despite being in the rail station square. Clean and well maintained. Room price gives free travel within Erfurt (bus, tram, both very close). Extremely good breakfast (cereals, breads, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, bacon sausage and scrambled eggs, croissants, cake, cold meats, cheese). Tip: the Senior Citizen rate includes breakfast, also for a younger partner.

Reviewed By Garry BThis hotel in no way is 4 star, about 2.5 would see it out. The photos are misleading and made to look better than it is. 2 lifts to get to the room is different. At no time are any reception staff at the desk. The rooms are furnished with basic 1950s furniture and as others have said about the air conditioning is true. We had one of these rooms but when we complained it didn’t work a man came up put his hand on vent and said it takes time to cool down. The next day an air conditioning man came and told us it is not air conditioning but an evaporation system. Useless. A fan was supplied that did help. To us 4star hotels have dining rooms not this one. The 20 minute walk down town to eat was much better than railway station take away. No bathroom toiletries either. Either Best Western or Trip Advisor should relate this place as neither companies image is enhanced by this property. Good point it close to the station.
