Twickenham is a suburban area and town in Greater London, lying on the River Thames 10.2 miles west-southwest of the centre of London. It has an extensive town centre and is famous as being the home of rugby union, with hundreds of thousands of spectators visiting Twickenham Stadium, the world's largest rugby stadium, each year. The historic riverside area is famous for its network of 18th-century buildings and pleasure grounds, many of which survive intact. This area has three grand period mansions with public access: York House, Marble Hill and Strawberry Hill House. Another has been lost, that belonging to 18th-century aphoristic poet Alexander Pope. Among these is the Neo-Gothic prototype home of Horace Walpole which has given its name to a whole district, Strawberry Hill, and is linked with the oldest Roman Catholic university in the country, St Mary's University, Twickenham.

Let's start with the positives- delicious food. Asparagus, popcorn prawns, paneer all cooked to perfection. The food was brilliant. But this place needs to get its act together elsewhere."Asian tapas" is a neat concept but falls apart when the first plates are brought within 25 minutes and the next ones are over an hour after that. The spacing was just silly. We finished our bottle of wine before our second round of "plates" and were not offered any more drinks at any point. When our first (dirty) plate was taken away, we were given a replacement with cutlery essentially chucked on it. No thank you after we'd paid- and we needed to work quite hard to even get the bill.It could be a great restaurant but there are some glaring issues they need to address before that is the case. We enjoyed todayâs lunch offering whilst watching Three Dunkirk little ships returning to their 1940 starting point to await the opening of the Teddington lock. All were flying the White Ensign defaced with the arms of Dunkirk which is their unique privilege. To eat we had a variety of dishes soup, curry, sea bass, hot peach crumble and ice cream. All were very good and tasty. The surprise of the lunch though was the most magnificent dish of chips huge ones piping hot crisp on the outside and wonderfully fluffy and flowery in the inside.....the best ever !they put Mr Heston Blumenthalâs offerings in the shade. We sent a message to the chef to congratulate him we hope he got it.Ivory S

We try new vegetarian restaurants as they crop up and this one is well worth a visit. Lovely mushroom risotto perfectly cooked, an interesting and creative menu, pleasant, welcoming helpful staff, a good atmosphere with various groups enjoying their meal. Will visit again for an evening meal and recommend it to others.

This is a newish venture which certainly deserves to succeed: charming service, impressive food (lamb, pork, padron peppers, croquetas, octopus all really good in tapas form), good wine list, very reasonably priced. We had a very enjoyable dinner and we would definitely return. A fine addition to the local dining scene.
