The area around heathrow isnât pretty, but every turd has a silver lining; even filthy heathrow. If youâre interested in plain, honest excellent food, Moniz is the place for you. Of particular note is the quality of the produce served here. It is nothing short of spectacular. Chosen with love and devotion by a Portuguese family who actually care about what they put before you on the table. A fine selection of reasonably priced Portuguese wines and deserts that would, I promise you, tempt the devil himself. Absolutely spectacular. Iâve eaten here many times over the years, thanks be to God. Highly recommended in every imaginable way. Worth the trip from central London. Outstanding. Obrigado Moniz!

Loved it. Looking to eat outside the hotel and we found this around the corner. Unassuming restaurant - don't be put off from the front room which is more cafe style, they have a smart little area around the back of the bar with full table service.Grilled Octopus, squid, salmon and beef were all excellent - generous portions, served with either salad and chips, potatoes and properly cooked (not mushy) veggies and some fried maize.Tastes were great, service friendly and family style. Proper good pour of house red which was soft, warm and worked with the food. I'll be back the next time we have a night out of Heathrow.

Decide to eat at O Saloio Portuguese restaurant for dinner the night before our flight. What a brilliant find. Restaurant owners were lovely, food was fabulous (we had the beef kebabs) and wine was far to easy to drink (jug of house red was delicious). Just about had room for a traditional Portuguese custard tart (fabulous) and coffee, and a glass of port, the perfect end to the evening. Reminded us of traditional Portuguese restaurants we visited when we were in Portugal. Excellent value for money, delicious food and lovely staff what more could you ask for. Next time we are flying from Heathrow we will definitely visit for dinner.
