We stayed in Kewstoke for one night and fancied a drink - the new castle was full and due to the rain we could not sit outside. We then went to The Commodore very dated and not for us so we moved onto this little gem. We had walked past it earlier in the day and thought maybe not - how wrong we were.Slightly dated decor (emphasis on 4 review) but the drink was reasonably priced, bar snacks and the locals were amazing really friendly and welcoming as was the landlord. Really enjoyable.

The Terrace is a small family run cafe/bar with great views over marine lake from our terrace. We serve food from breakfasts to lunches sandwiches and snacks. We have roasts on Sundays.The terrace is completely dog friendly they are welcome inside and out

Staying at the Anchor Head hotel up the road we were going to visit the Claremont Vaults pub at lunch time while waiting for the room. Unfortunately it was closed, contrary to the times published on their web site. Being a bit out of town we were at something of a loss, until we noticed a sign for the Terrace Cafe Bar.This place is exactly what the title describes, a cross between a cafe and a bar. There is a very nice area at the back where you can sit in the sun (if it's out!) and look out over the estuary. They have a good selection of beers and reasonably priced too.We had been intending to get fish and chips for lunch at Nelson's next door, but there was a notice on the door saying the business had been closed down. Not our day really, but luckilly they do food at the Terrace. We both had the "Brunch", basically an English breakfast, which was cooked nicely, but at £6.50 we would have expected a bit more.The guy behind the bar was friendly and helpful, and the place has a smart, clean appearance. All in all, this is a nice place to visit and we would return if in the area again.Thanks for your comments, they are very much appreciated, hope to see you again soon! Glad we could provide a wonderful service for you, we do think that the brunch with all the ingredients (including bacon, sausage, egg, beans, chips and bread butter with an additional hot drink on the side) is a good deal.But, this being said,we will consider your comments. Three of us visited on a Sunday about 2pm for a carvery. Unfortunately on arrival the landlady wasnât overly friendly but we let it slide and continued to queue for payment and drinks. Once my friend received her nutroast we joined the carvery queue and were impressed at the choice of meats (5). It was a tasty roast and good value for money! Just a a little attention to detail on the customer service front needed!!

We have just returned from Bleadon as we are thinking of moving to the area from Bristol.We called in to the Anchor as the cottage we are interested in is literally just down the road.What a lovely, friendly pub!! We spent a few hours there chatting and had a pub lunch. We certainly would recommend and are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be our local pub in the future.

Visit regularly since it opened mainly with grandchildren and their parents - play are outside (weather permitting) and small indoor are ideal for smaller children. Furniture and interior looking âtiredâ but am told a refurb is imminent. Usual pub grub menu with the addition of rotisserie chicken at good prices with adequate choice - there is a lunchtime low cost menu that again offers a good choice. They separate the children and their families that is ideal for both the families and those who do not wish to have their meals with a childrenâs accompaniment.

You enter through the pub to reach The Captainâs Table. Lovely views over to the sea and beyond. Fantastic service from the waitress, very caring and attentive. We started with the scallops which were the special of the day. It came with bread and salad and was good. The mains were a seafood selection, smoked salmon, half a lobster and prawns with salad and chips. It was very good. Also, ham, egg and chips was good. The sea bass and the potato dauphinois were over cooked unfortunately and they came with a selection of vegetables. Desserts of chocolate brownie and mint aero cheese cake which were excellent.

This pub is simply amazing! The landlords are great, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly too. The drink selection is brilliant and the food is out of this world! Keep up the amazing work guys can't wait to come and visit again soon! Also love that it's dog friendly too. The in-laws dog is very loved when we visit! See you guys soon!

We are local and keep trying this place in the hope that it has had some customer training since the last visit. Alas it still hasnât. My last visit was similar to my previous two visits, but this time we didnât sneak away without ordering, we felt brave. We entered, we were completely ignored for at least 5 minutes (nothing new there, weâre used to this, and longer, from here) but this time when we were finally acknowledged it was made clear to us that being even slightly offended by our treatment so far that the waitress seating us was going to be verbally aggressive. We just wanted a good meal, good service and a quiet life. Our meal was quite average, certainly not worth the money, and we spent the whole time trending on eggshells so as not to upset the waitress! Not an experience we will ever repeat, we are done with place. Thereâs much better places nearby with good food and LOVELY staff. Donât waste your time or money here.

Placed an order for three breakfast baps at 9.34 am - till receipt time. Sat down half an hour by our watches still no baps arrived. Chased up order to be told that orders take half an hour. We were not told this at time of order. Also told till receipt time 10 mins out. So by even the cafes times by 10.25 am we gave up waiting and left at 10.28 am. Asked for refund only to be told that chef plating ! I appreciate a delivery of cafe items came whilst we were waiting so unsure if this put chef behind. All in all sad experience and would not visit again. I guess this is more of an issue if people pay for parking. Had an elderly relative with us as well. We have been to Stones before, seen it busier and food coming quicker. Not height of season yet for this issue. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and feedback. I am sorry you were disappointed with your visit but I would like to point out a couple of more accurate points. Unfortunately you did not order at 9.34am as you say you did. I know the till receipt says 9.34 but as explained to you at the time, due to a computer area on the till the receipt time is inaccurate. Your order time was in fact almost 10.00am so you would be well aware that you were not in the café and ordering almost half an hour before that time. I disagree that you were not told that wait time for food at that precise moment was 30 minutes as the staff have assured me and indeed commented on this incident in our report book, that everyone who wished to order was informed about the wait time so they could make a choice about if they were happy to wait or not. Also there was a board displayed on the counter, next to the till which said "wait time for food is currently 30 minutes, we apologise for the delay". This is common practice in the café when we are busy. As you have stated for food was ready at 10.25am making your wait time 25 minutes, inside the 30 minute timescale you were made aware off.We were very busy for breakfast on this morning, you may well have seen more people in the café as you say but you have no idea what people have ordered, be it just coffees, cake, cold drinks or cooked breakfasts etc. At the time of your visit there were in fact 27 cooked breakfasts on order before you, unfortunately it is not possible or fair to bump you up the queue in front of others because you are not happy to wait. All our food is cooked fresh to order as stated on our menus and as this is the case, during busy times there may be longer than normal wait. If you wish to get your breakfast from somewhere where everything is cooked in advance and left to bake in a hotplate or oven then I would suggest you try somewhere less popular or a fast food establishment.I await the visit from Trading Standards (as that was what you were shouting at my staff) with interest.

I was taken to The Old Inn on Sept 1st by my sister Ange who lives in the village.we received a warm welcome and there was a good friendly atmosphere ,we had tasty food and excellent service. We were well impressed and will be coming here again.
