Comfortable and convenient
Reviewed By Richard PVisiting Ellwangen for a wedding, this hotel was a comfortable and convenient place to stay - in a very pretty town. My only negative was that the room overlooked the beer garden, and the noise (it was not massively noisy, just a constant buzz of conversation) goes on until quite late - so not ideal if you want an early night. The window was double-glazed but this does not keep out all the noise.

Stuffy, smelly, mouldy and illuminated like hell
Reviewed By Big MDisappointing and not recommended - despite an outwardly nice appearance the hotel is in bad shape. Stuffy smell in the corridors and the rooms that doesn’t go away even with heavy venting. The shower stall very mouldy in an ugly way and probably also to an unhealthy degree. See pics. The window shutter out of order so that the Wehrmacht-issue like flak searchlight illuminating the backyard also bathes the sleeping room in white light rendering a refreshing deep sleep impossible. See also pics. The newer part might be better, but the part they call euphemistically the “Tradition House” is an imposition.

Reviewed By gbhalkoRoom was extremely clean, cosy, very comfy bed, pillow and mattress. Nice and friendly staff. A quick check in and check out. Fresh coffee and fresh breakfast, I recommend, even for more than one night, perfect location in the town centre.

Corona desaster

The staff is helpful and really goes the extra mile - however the check-in did not function as the code for the key was forgotten to be sent to us, nobody was there, the house was abandoned. Would it not have been for the nice IT guy who showed up by chance, we would not have been able to get our room. The Corona misery is one thing, but if you decide to open your hotel then you should also offer the very basic services that go with it.

It is a family run hotel, they are very welcoming and happy to help. We normally stay for business, the food is fresh and service excellent. Would always prefer to stay here rather that any of the other hotels in Ellwangen.

Country Hotel with great restaurant
Reviewed By akira28Stayed for 2 nights while on a business trip, hotel is in small village opposite church. Town of Ellwangen is 5 min drive where there are restaurants. But to be honest you are better eating at the hotel where the food is very good quality and has wide choice. Rooms are modern and good size. Highly recommended

German quality at a fair rate
Reviewed By FCX75016Traveling from Berlin to Lausanne we needed to rest somewhere in Germany and we searched for a place for the 3 of us. Tagungshaus Schöneberg is actually a closter with rooms in the old building and in a new construction. It has a very nice garden and a beautiful Church overviewing the nice village of Ellwangen. Rooms are simple but very clean. If registered in advance, it is possible to have dinner. In the evening, you may help yourself to drinks and pay by check out. The breakfast was really good and the rate cheap (44€ for 1 simple bed room and 68€ for a 2 bed room).
