Bageri Ekero AB

Bageri Ekerö is a bakery shop that also does lunches and we for this reason we stopped here for a couple of salads. The salads were good but the smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery tempted us to have coffees and pastries too. Nice staff. Seating can be a bit difficult, especially during peak hours.

Åt brunch. Vi var fyra i sällskapet. Alla var mycket nöjda med maten. Mycket trevlig personal, helt ok tid innan maten kom. God måltidsdryck som vi fick recept på! Inga problem att få måltid utan gluten.
Väldigt härlig utsikt över hamn samt vatten.
Vi var mycket nöjda

Located in a posh suburb of Stockholm they serve well prepared and balanced dishes from a short but well balanced menu. Might be a bit pricy but with absolutely no competition in the area and surrounded with suburbian families with to much disposable income can you really blame them. Enjoy the suburban-posh experience with great food if you are in the area...

Gelato Scarfo

Reviewed By Paolabraconi65 - Stockholm, Stockholms Län, Sweden

This is the best Italian icecream in Sweden: both owners are professional 'maestri gelatieri' (icecream makers) and they use only the best of the ingredients! It is definitely worthwhile visiting the shop located in a enchanting area of Stockholm clise to the sea!
Take the underground to Alvik (the green line) and then the Nockeby train to Ålsten. Then just enjoy! Check their homesite for opening hours!
And then take a walk along the coast!

Tucked away on a large island (Faringso) West for Stockholm is this little restaurant - where apples are made into many dishes and different liquid forms. Bring some apples and they make you apple juice right there and then! The restaurant serves excellent tasting food and beverages and you can enjoy it outside between apple trees or inside! From the small shop various apple juices / ciders and "stronger stuff" are available for purchase. Find out more as there is a Farmers Market also available at times. A beautiful place that will see me again!

Ekebyhov Castle

My 'Swedish daughter' treated me to lunch at the Ekebyhov, a 1670 Swedish manor house with a true Swedish smorgasbord of food. The selection of delectable salads, ciders, vegetable dishes, and the plum-filled, thinly sliced pork tenderloin with homemade applesauce were wonderful. Catharina called ahead for a vegetarian dish which she said was a little 'dilly' but 'good'. Afterward, we walked thru the park checking out the selection of Scandinavian varieties of apple trees, which were all labeled. I highly highly recommend it. Art upstairs. Goodies for sale. Can be used as a conference center. Music on occasion. Thank you Catharina!

Drottningholms Golfklubb

Reviewed By Ex-expat-1964 - Stockholm, Sweden

I have a soft spot for restaurateurs who sell quality champagne at a low mark-up. If you would happen to make a hole-in-one at Royal Drottningholm, a bottle of Bollinger will set you back SEK 750 (€80/£65).
An extra plus is that the Bolly will be served in glasses small enough for your fellow golfers to enjoy and still be able to drive legally afterwards.
So, why wait for a that elusive ace? Just go there and celebrate your birthday (any other occasion will also do, I am sure...) with a round of golf at one of Stockholm's best golf courses (certainly the driest after the 2012 rebuild) and a champagne reception afterwards!

After 2 visits over years after main holiday season, we give up to only get a coffee there, even when a conference is on-going and staff stands around.
