Reviewed By Canada-TourDirectorMy wife and I had a wonderful one-night experience at this EXCELLENT hotel. Check-In and Check-Out was super-fast and very nice people at the Reception Desk area. This is also beautiful because it has an old-style architectural design in excellent condition. Our night was very quiet. I asked for a room in the quietest area and that worked out perfect. Parking was no problem. To summarize it all: The next time we plan a stay in the Drummondville area, this will definitely be our place of choice. To everyone at Best Western Hôtel Universel - - - - - Keep up the great, excellent work.

Smokey Room
Reviewed By 363duanelWe stayed here for one night while traveling to Ottawa. The Hotel did appear to be following COVID-19 Protocols. The Hotel is an older building that has been renovated over the years. The room has been renovated, it could have used a little TLC, especially in the bathroom. There was an odour of smoke in the room. Had it not been because we were tired and it was late, we would have asked for another room. We did notice a large pile of cigarette butts close to the entrance of room so the smokey smell could have been coming from there. The beds were ok, though they did sag a little in the middle. Bedding was old and certainly could be updated. The bathroom could use a refresh, especially tile grout and caulking. This was an average Hotel that is suited for a one night stay.

Reviewed By snowbirdy2First time stay. Location great for services, shopping, restaurants, mall. Hotel a bit outdated and needs renovations. No elevator. Not soundproof, and noises heard from hallway, possibly due to the gap on the bottom of door. Lobby very small and computer did not work. TV ok. Breakfast was an egg-cheese sandwich, yogourt and muffin. Friendly front desk clerk.

We had originally booked in at a popular budget chain hotel/motel but left after two nights due to poor quality and poor value. We came to the Hotel Blanchette and were very happy. Our room was in the back wing on the second floor, two queen beds. The room was very clean, spotless mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and wall mounted tv. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet even though almost every room was booked. The motel is popular for companies that have crews nearby working to stay. There is a laundry room with two pay washers and dryers, not the newest models but they cleaned and dried our clothes. The restaurant have super friendly staff who speak English, very good food and the food comes out fast and fresh. Everything thing is connected in the building so we never had to go out in the cold to move around. They have advertising for staff, but if short staffed it wasn’t obvious. We had to ask once for housekeeping to come straighten up but an attendant came by quickly. The areas around the exits were icy and the parking areas around the cars were quite treacherous. The staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and the management. It’s obvious that having good customer service and maintained building is important to the owners.

I phoned the motel for directions and the woman was to my mind, rude, and not at all helpful. The room was clean, but quite small, the walls paper-thin. There was no price advantage to staying so far out of the way.

Reviewed By snowbirdy2Very much enjoyed my fist time stay here. Beautiful hotel, impeccable all around. Staff very friendly and hospitable. Top customer service in every single department. From check-in to check-out, all was perfect. New modern furniture and drapes. Excellent TV viewing with plenty of great channels including CNN. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, with lots of hot and cold choices, and the host\waitress was wonderful. I appreciated the complimentary coffee and drink machines that were available all day. Special thanks to front-desk agent and supervisor who went the extra mile with outstanding service. Will definitely return.

Reviewed By mishrayeClean hotel with modern decor. Friendly service. Free breakfast buffet was just ok...the coffee dispenser sat empty for a while and the boiled eggs were waaay overcooked. Disappointed not to find USB charging ports in the room...this is a new hotel after all. The bathroom was nice. Definitely a decent place to stay but nothing to write home about. Didn’t check out the pool.
