First time at Haveli Indian Restaurant but certainly won't be the last. The owners offered us a warn welcome and chatted with us through out the night about beautiful India. The food was sensational, full of flavour and fresh. Service was great all night, menu is extensive and not to badly priced. They have a well stocked bar too. Food didn't take long to come out and the aroma was wonderful as was the flavour. Portion sizes were very good, actually we couldn't get through our main courses. We started off with entree which was beautiful, followed by main which we chose their signature dish " Butter Chicken" and " Beef Madras" with Naan Bread and Rice. It's a fairly large place so could cater for functions. Ample parking nearby. Don't know why it's taken me so long to try this place but I will certainly be back. Wonderful.

Very nice food and great service. The paella is a 40 minute wait, but worth waiting for. We were the only diners. We were treated very well and not rushed at all. Be wary of the time limit parking out the front!

We dined as a family last night. While it's quite pricey and the menu is not extensive the main meals served and the service provided is very good. Presentation of food was lovely so compliments to the Chefs. Only complaint was that the air con in the room was freezing. This did not make for an enjoyable meal. I asked if it could be made warmer and it was but really that should have been notice earlier by the staff especially when we were putting more clothes on. There was an obvious change in room temperature from one room to the other and the air vent above the table would have cooled our meals down much faster than needed. Well done to this restaurant though.

My wife and I only stumbled on Tantra as our regular haunt was closed. We were too tired to bother choosing from a menu so had the banquets for two. Talk about being surprised.! Large portions of beautifully cooked food, spice samosa, succulent tandoori chicken, wafer like crispy naan, beautifully rich an decadent tomato based butter chicken, spice and tender Rogan Josh. We could only finish half the food but did manage to share one portion of their home made milk dumplings, in a sweet but delicately spice sauce, heaven. What we couldn't eat they packaged up for us and this fed us yet again the next day. The staff are wonderful and happy to assist. In all a little hidden gem to which we will definitely return.

Well worth a visit. Good Italian style cuisine and has in the past had a great jazz combo on the first Sunday of each month. Not sure if this is still the case so check this out. Otherwise a good venue for social gatherings.

As a last minute choice this restaurant turned out to be good choice. Its quite a roomy restaurant with plenty of well spaced tables. Service was friendly and pretty prompt. The cuisine was modern Italian which generally will satisfy most palates. Most main meals were around the $30 dollar mark so it represented good value for good quality food.

Umami, the fifth sense, savoury. Delicious is a better description for the food at Kobe.
The menu was very good, the specials menu very enticing.
Sea Urchin, the delicate roe was presented atop an urchin shell filled with long spaghetti strands of radish all on top of ice in a large low bowl, the vivid green wasabi on a leaf emulating sea weed and depth giving the effect that I was almost like looking into a rockpool in search of sea urchins. It was a visual meal. The roe had been prepared by masterful hands, not a blemish in site, each morsel appeared perfect. The battle of the senses then took over. The eyes wanted to keep looking and fought each morsel being moved from the rockpool, the taste, umami and texture wanted more. I lingered over that dish for at least 20 minutes.
Opposite me the King Fish Sashimi was going just a little faster. Again, the dish was presented to the eyes first, the detail in the presentation inducing almost a meditative state of wonder in what the chef had produced for you to enjoy. And yes, my sample try was very enjoyable, clean flavour with melt in your mouth texture. Only the best.
The grilled salted mackerel, a suri or pacific mackerel with a milder taste than the local broader and shorter fish was firm, moist and cooked to perfection, crisp edible tail and fins, so only half the head and backbone was left on the plate. A sign that the diner appreciated the effort of the chef and honoured the delicious fish.
The mains were eaten in almost complete silence…
The blackened cod with a side of steamed rice. Presented on a knotted pine lacquered board and highlighted with a head of broccolini. The pearlescent white of the fish, in places enveloped by blackened skin and basting sauce offset by the vibrant green of the broccolini on a “golden sand” of the wood, the lacquer of the wood giving the illusion of water. The eyes had their fill.
Now down to the eating. Remember broccoli, I certainly don’t remember it ever being this good. Cooked al dente, it was just so special. As for the cod, the flakes came away without too much fanfare from the chopsticks, so the fish was cooked to perfection. Eaten with a little rice the flakes of fish pearlescent, moist and full of flavour, occasionally punctuated by deep caramel, salt, soy and other flavours from strands of blackened skin or basting sauce. This time the other senses sided with the eyes and fought diminishing the fish on the plate. It took a long time to work through this dish. Every piece was a sensory delight, It felt like you needed to take time to let your senses fully take in the experience. A memorable dish.
I was told later that the Kaisen Teppanyaki was also a wonderful dish. It was noted that I became very absorbed in my enjoyment of the blackened cod. Complements to the chef, that’s a rare feat.
Staff attention was observant, responsive and top class cant speak highly enough of them.
