Reviewed By NL2223Unfriendly staff, who seemed entirely not pleased to be serving their guests. Not a single smile or hint of hospitality. When we politely requested whether dishes could perhaps be served a bit more quickly; having been at our table for well over two hours and still waiting for our main course, we were bluntly told that every table should be served in parallel, otherwise things become too inconvenient for the kitchen. The entire experience left us flabbergasted, certainly a place not to recommend to anyone.

Cycling holiday
Reviewed By DJW65We stayed in the small 6 bedroomed Hotel for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Our room no.6 was on the top.floor and was very spacious and comfortable . I think all.the rooms have been recently modernised as we saw in no 4 aswell . It was very hot weather while we were there so the fan in the room was appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a very pretty conservatory looking out onto the large garden at the back of the building. There are no rooms for socialising in but in good weather the outside area is very attractive. There is also a fridge and glasses etc on the landing which you can use. Unfortunately the restaurant, which has a very good reputation, was not open as it only opens Friday to Monday. We would have loved to have had a meal in the pretty garden. There is a bicycle shed were everyone left their bikes at night. The shed had plenty sockets to charge electric bikes and a metal.bar to.lock your bike to. Friendly staff and a quaint place to stay.

Reviewed By Katrien123456Al tijdens het reserveren van ons verblijf in De Wissen was het duidelijk dat de gastvrouw heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam is. Ze doet er alles aan om het verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken: er is een traiteurdienst voor het avondeten en het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid en lekker! De kamers zelf zijn mooi ingericht en ruim, ook indien je zoals wij met 4 personen op 1 kamer logeert. De locatie aan natuurgebied De Wissen is ideaal voor wandelingen en fietstochten! Een aanrader!

Everything was perfect - tasty breakfast, friendly owners, very clean rooms with extra attention to covid-times, bikes to rent, good location for hiking or biking, good sleep on a comfortable bed with no noise. Recommended to travellers with car. Facilities are also wheelchair friendly.
