Reviewed By Aslanschild2Our overnight stay in this castle/country house was one of the very best experiences of our two-week trip to Ireland. Paul and Patrycja Mernagh are gracious and elegant, as is their newly refurbished castle/country house B&B. Both have worked previously in the hotel industry for many years, and it shows. They know how to do hospitality and fine dining. They are not hovering or chatty, but are friendly and make themselves available when needed. The breakfast was gourmet (baked eggs!) and sumptuous, served meticulously. Fit for the king and queen of the Castle, which is exactly how we felt. Our room was spacious and gorgeous, among the loveliest we had on our trip. One of the most unusual experiences we had during our entire stay in Ireland was the permission Paul gave us to enter the 15th-Century castle ruin attached to the 17th-Century country house, and fully explore it on our own. It is well-lit and partially restored (very early but evident efforts). With due caution, we felt perfectly safe climbing the railed stairs all the way to the turrets and gazing out across the idyllic farmlands, something that would never be allowed in the U.S. thanks to lawyers and a highly litigious citizenry. We could hardly believe our good fortune to be able to do this, and we thanked Paul afterward for his—what, courage? Good will towards his guests? Desire to share such a precious heritage? All of the above, I believe. He sadly observed that he may not be able to offer this privilege much longer, even in Ireland. So, come while you can. This place is a rare find; for us it was the treat of a lifetime.

The Farmer's Kitchen Hotel was acquired by its current owners in Autumn 2012 and since then it has seen many changes. It stands just outside of Wexford town comprising of 21 bedrooms, all en-suite, our Farmer's Kitchen Lounge, Function Room, Mezzanine Level and of course the charming olde world 'Irene Scallan's Bar' A full refurbishment took place prior to reopening under new ownership and management and we continue to strive for improvement all the time. We pride ourselves on our delicious food and great staff. We will go above and beyond to make your stay a home from home.

Reviewed By Barry SStayed in this wonderful hotel the night before and night after my recent 24hr race and found it to be a wonderful and peaceful stay.Only 4K from Wexford town.The staff couldn't do enough for me and were all very friendly.Will definitely be staying here again and the stunning Johnstown Castle is close by.

Reviewed By Richard HThe Faythe is in an old house near the town centre. There is ample free parking at the rear. Each room is unique and mine had a bathroom almost as big as the bedroom. The room was very comfortable with tea making facilities. There was a TV and Wi-Fi which was average (on occasion it would say no Wi-Fi). The breakfast is exceptional. Home made carrot cake, banana bread, tea brack and soda bread. Lots of choice of cereals, juice, fruit etc. A menu which includes kippers (very good) and fresh fish and full Irish (in two sizes). Service is excellent. There is a library for guests which includes books to borrow as well as lots to interest the tourist. Special arrangements are made for those catching the 0845h ferry but, for everyone else, breakfast starts at 0800h. Easy walk into town to stroll the quays, try the restaurants and pubs or just see what Wexford has to offer.

Killurin Lodge is a family run 4 star Bed and Breakfast offering quality service, value for money and a genuine Irish welcome. A modern comfortable home nestled in the heart of the Slaney Valley in County Wexford, 5 minutes walk from the river and 2 minutes to a well stocked supermarket and lively country pub, serving food most evenings. It is a 10 min drive to Wexford and Enniscorthy towns and numerous beautiful beaches. Rosslare Europort is just a 30 min drive, with Waterford and Killkenny cities less than 60 mins and Dublin about 90 mins away. Our home is set in private, secluded 2.5 acres of mature gardens, ensuring a great night’s sleep without any traffic noise. All our rooms are on the ground floor and have ensuite shower room, flat screen TV, hairdryer and tea / coffee making facilities. In addition there is a bright south facing dining room where you can watch the many birds on the feeders while having breakfast. An outdoor kitchen is available to guests during the summer.

The room was so comfortable with everything you need for your stay, the breakfast hit the spot just nicely before we toured Wexford County each day and the whole experience was 10/10 from start to finish. I highly recommend this BnB for anyone staying in Wexford or if you just want a quite little getaway. Thank you Clare for hosting us and we'd love to return to visit again. Reviewed By shabba19Stayed here for a weekend break, this B&B looks quite quaint with its homely looking lounge & diningroom, BUT... it is very creeky and cold. The floorboards make alot if noise which puts you off moving about the place at night as its all floorboards everywhere. The walls are so thin you can here the other guests cough an go to the loo. The bathroom is tiny but the shower was powerful enough altho very dated with dirty grout an old fittings. There was a glass shelf just above the tiny sink which makes it impossible to wash your face without hitting your head (which I did). The bed was ok and clean, & there was tea & coffee with kettle that had to be moved across the room an used on the floor for the plug, then taken back to the small table it sits on for show beside the tea bags etc. The selection is very basic, maybe 5 tea bags 5sachets of sugar & 5 coffee sachets. Breakfast has to be requested at your last breakfast one day before, and if you change your mind then tough, I asked next morning if i could have an omellette instead of the poached eggs I had ordered the morning before and was told its too late to change it. To be honest I don't really know what I fancy for breakfast one whole day before, I generally like to see how I feel that morning. I didn't get the feeling we came first, more like we had to fit around Margaret! (The owner) We were asked to turn the tv in our room down on the Saturday evening, which we could barely hear due to the person above stamping about on the creeky floor, banging and dropping things. There is no food served at anytime except breakfast, so you will have to take some sort of munchies for inbetween, and you definately need a car to stay at this B&B as there is nothing close by or in walking distance. I do think it would be a more pleasent stay in the summer months when its less cold an you're barely in the room or B&B. To be honest I didn't find the owner to be over friendly atall, there was no conversation or small talk, very matter of fact from the day we arrived, I feel we left as strangers, which was very disapointing as the Irish are famed for being friendly or so they say! Oh yeah take plenty of warm clothes, as the heating goes off at night , when we said we were cold we were told theres a blanket in the wardrobe lol. To be honest id rather have stayed at home! Thats how this experience has left me feeling, that I wasted good time & money on the whole weekend stay. No I won't be back, an I doubt the owner cares either way about anything but herself!

Beaufort House Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful Tudor style Bed and Breakfast accomodation overlooking the river Barrow, situated on the New Ross Ring Road, in County Wexford. All Beaufort house bedrooms have just recently been refurbished with TV, hair dryer, Wi-Fi and en suite bathroom; there is a separate lounge for guests where refreshments are served.

Reviewed By 75olesyatThe host Margaret was absolutely lovely and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Had a room which slept 3 and everyone slept very well. Our stay finished with a delightful breakfast with 2 courses. Great value for the price paid. Would highly recommend this place.
