The place has nice decoration, the service was very good, the waitress was really patient and explained us the different types of meat cuts. As a starter we had an assorted sausage dish with an extra of blood sausage. My husband is from Spain, having experience in this kind of "charcuteria" he though it wasn't good. We accompanied this with a pitcher of "sangria" which was really good for me but average for my Spaniard husband!!! As a main dish I ate a "Lomito Alegre" medium cook. A read the review here and it was a good choice: soft meat, juicy and tasty but not greasy. The red wine sauce was just a little bit sweat and the bacon taste wasn't too strong... for me the perfect balance. The dish came with grilled tomato, egg plant and zucchini and baked potato. The size of the dish is big enough for two! To finish we had a dessert of mousse of maracuya... Excessive sweet for me but it was ok, consisting in a kind of merengue with maracuya thick syrup. A little bit pricey but kind of standard for Costa Rican restaurants. I'd recommend this restaurant!

Food was good. People were family and tried hard to please. Tasty. Reasonably priced. The tables are these huge slabs of tree trunks (Guanacaste wood maybe?), each unique in size and shape.Service was quick. Family run places always have a better feel than chains/franchises, etc.

This place is like a throw back to a time before processed food. We visited three times in two days because two of our friends were smitten with every plate that we ordered. They're both Costa Rican residents but swooned over the authentic small town flavor and choices. The grill in front of the restaurant produced juicy wood cooked kebabs. The old wood stove simmered sauces morning noon and night. A wonderful blend of authentic flavors. As I type I'm wanting to book a trip back to Costa Rica just to visit this culinary gem.
