I went here after this restaurant was highly recommended by a co-worker. I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed. The beer selection was horrible - very similar to an American pub (3 types and that's it). Sadly also the highly recommended ribs were also a let down. They tasted basically like any other mass produced ribs without any distinct flavour and not really well cooked. Myself and my co-workers ended our supper wishing that we had gone back to the Ice Hut instead.

Cochrane has very few restaurants serving really good food, and the Station inn Restaurant isn't one of them. We were referred her by another group that had eaten there once before, saying it was better than the rest (although not necessarily very good).
I had the hot chicken Sandwich w. fries & gravy. Plenty of chicken (white meat), good fries, but the gravy was 'generic" - i.e. not beef, chicken Turkey or pork. Obviously, restaurant mix.
My friend had the Philly steak Sandwich. OK, but the onions & green peppers were more soggy than stir-fry.
Service was good, but décor lacking, especially for a converted historic railway station.

We have been to Cochrane twice this winter and Terry's was our favourite! The food is great and the service is fast. Thankfully the Ice Hut was open during that blizzardy night. We were seated & served quickly. Our waitress explained the special but we opted for a steak & burger. The steak was cooked well & served with veggies & garlic mashed. The burger was excellent as were the fresh cut fries! A good dining option while in Cochrane!

We stopped here for lunch, mostly because the place had great reviews. I had the fish and chips and my wife had poutine. We mentioned that we were going to share both and the server &/or chef provided us with two plates, already sharing, The price was very reasonable and the servings were large enough that we both had lots to eat.

Olindo's Pizza in Cochrane, ON is strictly a takeout/delivery business. And cash only. Access is less than inviting…. a hole-in-the-wall entrance located in an unpaved back alley. Order and pickup is at a half-door window in a narrow hallway. No waiting area or washroom facilities. But on the plus side… the pizza is good, prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and they are open till midnight seven days a week.
Olindo's makes only one style of pizza… “traditional” thick crust pizza. Most of the usual toppings are on the menu, but no meatballs nor anchovies. But again a plus side… feta cheese is an option (counts as 2 toppings.) On rare occasions one of the listed toppings may not be available. When I tried to order a pizza which included Italian sausage I was told that they had temporarily run out of that topping.
The takeout/delivery menu also includes Panzerotti, Chicken Wings (plain or battered) sold by the pound, and a small list of miscellaneous such as deep fried pickles, onion rings, pogos, spicy fries, etc.
NOTE: Olindo's Pizza in Cochrane, ON should not be confused with, and is not in any way currently connected with Olindo's Pizza in Iroquois Falls, ON. The Iroquois Falls restaurant is full service eat-in, LLBO licensed, offers Takeout and Delivery, and the eat-in menu also includes family fare.
Olindo is the first name of the owner/operator of Olindo's in Cochrane, ON. He personally explained to me that he used to own the Iroquois Falls restaurant, and when he sold it he gave permission to the new owners to retain the name for the Iroquois Falls restaurant… but retained the right to use it if/when he started up a new business, which he now has in the Cochrane, ON.
Summary:
- As a takeout/delivery operation… possibly Very Good. (My pizza was very good even without the Italian sausage.)
- Rating in comparison with full service restaurants… at best Good.

My first time at this Harvey's Swiss Chalet; my chicken burger was crispy and tender . I was somehow surprise that the burger was not greasy. Their fries were delicious and not even greasy...WOW.
My friend had the chicken leg Combo (or try to have the combo) She wanted to have the coffee instead of a pop. They refused saying there were no subsitution. She ended up ordering coffee on the side.
