Reinhold's Restaurant

What a surprise to enter the Reinholdst Which felt like going into the past as the decor was a little dark & very red with chamber music playing in the background. The menu offered a good choice from which we ordered chicken dishes. The service was excellent & the presentation good.Certainly an interesting restaurant and worth the experience when in Clanwilliam.

We parked here and used this place as a base to do the rock art trail (which is incredible). When we got back the restaurant was a welcome sight and the food was a welcome treat. Big portions and good value - especially when you have been out in the mid day sun.

Yellow Aloe Guest house and restaurant

The outside garden has a bit more of an informal, cafe vibe, but inside you feel like you're fine dining. While the menu is a bit limited (2 starters, 3 mains and 1 dessert), the food is delicious. The lamb curry that we had was probably the best that I have ever eaten in my life.

The Dam Bistro CC

Country Style restaurant that caters for the whole Family

We really enjoyed this casual spot. (Went for lunch and dinner on the same day)
Fantastic service and a surprisingly creative menu.
Traditional South African fair with some twists.
Pizza was perfectly thin and crispy. Salad was fresh and beautifully presented.
Local Rooibos Mojito was super delicious and the Rooibos Creme-brulee was a great take on a traditional desert and the perfect way to end a super meal.
Definitely the place to go when you're in Clanwilliam.

Nancy's Tearoom

Reviewed By Stellies_Squirrel - Stellenbosch, South Africa

The teas and coffee are in my opinion overpriced - not even in Stellenbosch do we pay 25 for a cup of tea.. and here you are in the rooibos area even..
The scones was bigggg and tasty, but more bread texture..
The tramazinni with chicken and bacon and cheese was great along with the chips :)
Just a normal tearoom in a house in a small town with a nice garden. Friendly staff, but on our day the atmosphere quickly changed a bit chaotic when tables started to fill. Our table was filled whilst we will still sitting and waiting for the cheque. haha - all in good spirits, had a nice chat with the strangers.

Friendly people, delicious food and excellent service. A combination that is a rarity nowadays. From the first minute until you leave, this place is one fantastic experience. No need to stop anywhere else when you are in the vicinity. Give it a try, you won't be sorry!

Michaels on Park

Reviewed By Deborah S - Cape Town, South Africa

After Reading the reviews of others, we were looking forward to our meal.
On arrival there was no one to greet us and we, and another group of guests, just walked into the dark dining room and sat ourselves. Our reservation was never checked.
The menu was varied, but not very inspiring. Yes, on Reading it was comfort food.
I had the salad to start. The ingredients were fresh, but it lacked "heart". Served in a small bowl it was more like a side salad. I was left feeling short-changed.
My husband had the chicken liver and hummus pate. It was bland and nothing that couldn't be put together quickly at home.
For mains I had pan fried hake. I really didn't expect it to be battered... but it was and I wouldn't have ordered if I'd known. The carrots were coated in sugar and no longer tasted of carrots.
My husband had chicken skewers which were also coated in a very sugary sauce. Neither of us enjoyed what we were served.
And I've never heard the ping of a microwave so much in a restaurant!
If we'd wanted to enjoy comfort food we would have cooked in the cottage where we were staying. This wasn't comfort food, it was just not good food.

On a recommendation from our B&B host we had dinner at de Kelder. It is a restaurant with a pub attached and clearly well supported by locals. The restaurant was unpretentious with good service and the grilled food was delicious. This chef really knows how to grill steaks! And the prices were very reasonable.

If you would like to buy Rooibos tea in this Tea capital, this is place to go with hundreds of varieties. But don't dispair, the owner was exceptionally helpful, and patient as we chose our wares - the prices were good!! There are lots of other little treasures to spend you money on, and the wool shop had everything you need to knit or sew the next item!

Floris Restaurant

Family friendly restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Easy eating contemporary style cape cuisine as well as wood fire pizzas, burgers & pastas. Craft beer on tap as well as a refreshing wine list with a great selection of wines from the region.

Reviewed By homedelsac - Corbera de Llobregat, Spain

Nice restaurant with tables in and outside (in the garden). Good service. We had BBQ ribs and bobotie, all excelent. However, as Europeans we still find a bit surprising the adjective of fine dining for a place where you find a plastified menu listing things such as hamburgers, panfried chicken and pizza. Thanksfully the result was much better than we feared when Reading the menu.
