I have been to this restaurant a couple of times my son was reluctant as he said its for old age pensioners but was pleasantly surprised at the value for money breakfast they provided. More recently I had a Chicken curry which was really nice. This restaurant caters for all but I agree with other reviewers it is a day time restaurant. Staff are friendly and efficient I will continue to visit.

A very good Italian restaurant in Clacton. All food prepared and cooked on the premises. Plenty of seafood including lobster and sea bass. Staff extremely friendly and looked after us very well. Highly recommended.

We started off with a drink at the bar . The restaurant was packed as only 2 weeks until Xmas. We ordered our food and were shown to our table. My husband always has the king prawns and I ordered the hot potted crab. Both were delicious! We then had the lobster/seafood linguini which was outstanding! I don't eat meat so for me there is such an excellent choice of fish dishes. My husband had the banoffee cheesecake which he raved about for days after. This is most definitely the best restaurant in Clacton with happy staff and the most amazing food!!

Went here with my partner for an evening meal. Food was good, portions were a good size. The waiter we had was excellent, had a nice conversation with us after our meal when we were paying the bill. All in all, for the price we paid, we can't complain! Will be back

Compared to the other chip shop in town this place is significantly upmarket. It’s a much larger operation presumably scaled to deal with a much higher summer demand than what it currently has to deal with.
First things first, this plaice, (see what I did there), isn’t cheap! Large cod small ships & a can of coke is going to cost you the best part of £9 per person which for fish and chips is practically daylight robbery.
One way to keep the cost down could be to sit in their restaurant & just remind yourselves you’re paying for waitress services. This area is ok, but it’s certainly not a high end establishment.
The food is well cooked, all be it my batter was raw in places inside & had the texture of Roe. That said it was good as the batter was slightly “over”, compared to other places in the area which I like. The chips were proper freshly cut chips & were very well cooked & May have actually been twice fried but I can’t be certain.
Buy the food from here, but get the soft drinks from Tesco opposite & save yourselves an absolute fortune.

My second visit here. Was not impressed on my first visit - ( food tasted like it had been sat in the fryer warming section too long) but thought I'd give them another try. Popped in at lunchtime. Busy but service was friendly and quick. Chose the £7.60 special. Cod, Chips, Bread & Butter, coffee. Food was good and freshly cooked. Will come again.

Greensward is an absolute favourite of ours and we popped by with some friends yesterday. A varied menu, like a good cafe should. Prompt service, fair prices and always really tasty food. We had a breakfast, piping hot and freshly cooked. My daughter nearly always has cheesy chips, which she did again. The cafe itself is always immaculately clean. I've nearly filled my loyalty card!

This was our first visit to a Thai restaurant and what have we been missing!
The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service outstanding.
Nothing was too much trouble and as novices to Thai food, we asked lots of questions and each dish was explained.
I didn't realise how fresh and tasty Thai food is. The 5 of us tried different dishes - all were so tasty including ribs, satay chicken, mixed starter platter, green curry, pad thai, lamb shank and noodles. The raw carrot and peanut salad as a side dish is so fresh and wholesome and just yummy.
If you think you are too full for banana fritters for dessert, just try to squeeze one in - you will not be disappointed.
A hidden gem of a restaurant with a warm friendly atmosphere, outstanding service and fantastic food. We will definitely return

we have used this restaurant/pub a number of times and find the team there very very helpful, dan is the boss but is supported by a great team, the food is delicious always hot and the beer is always very nice
