This place is 100% delightful. The location, the views, the buildings, the gardens, the rooms, the staff, the food in the restaurant... Just perfect! Pakistan needs more hotels of this kind (in India they'd be called 'heritage' hotels) - I hope the country manages to increase capacity away from the standard 2* rather dull offerings that are found everywhere.

Fabulous hotel in every detail!

Pakistan needs more hotels like this! Comfortable, characterful, well-run, friendly, clean, excellent restaurant - a completely pleasurable experience. Apparently there's a huge swimming pool but I was too busy enjoying the fabulous view from our balcony to seek it out.

Chitral Mountain Inn

The best place to stay in Chitral

Reviewed By gringotropical2

This hotel has clean, air conditioned bungalows with terraces. The rooms are lacking in charm, but functional. The best thing about this place is the beautiful garden. It is a joy to sit in this peaceful place and chat with the other guests, and you can even take your meals here. The manager goes to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is located in the heart of Chitral, with easy access on foot to the bazaar, the fort and the beautiful mosque. My only complaint is that the hot water did not work. This should be attended to. Highly recommended.

Terichmir View Hotel

Lovely Views

Reviewed By Jane E

I stayed 2 nights at the Terishmir View Hotel while on a trip through northern Pakistan. It was one of the better hotels from the 3-week trip. The reception area is huge, probably much bigger than it needs to be. The sleeping rooms are less spacious but each one opens on to a big terrace with a view across Chitral town to Terishmir. There was also a big back lawn/garden below the terraces. Philistine that I am, while the terrace was great for mountain and garden viewing it was even better for drying laundry. My room had twin beds, 2 chairs, coffee table, desk with stool and a wardrobe. There was also an older style TV (not flatscreen) but no kettle or hairdryer. Based on my experience in multiple Pakistani mid-range hotels these small appliances are never supplied. There was a good overhead fan.The room was well lit with multiple accessible power outlets (a problem in some other hotels) although each one took a bit of fiddling and wiggling of the plug/adaptor to get a connection. The bathroom was fairly standard but with its own geyser meaning that there was always enough hot water. However, I could not adjust the shower temperature between scalding and freezing and ended up bathing using the handy bucket and scoop. The hotel is close enough to the river for the flowing water sound to be ever present blotting out the city noise. Who needs a white noise machine? We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was a basic buffet with few choices, the same as that provided in most Pakistani hotels. Dinner was fairly standard as well except for a very tasty mutton dish. The hotel has wifi – sometimes…. The connection was unstable and weak like that in many mid-range hotels in the north east of the country. There is sometimes a connection but often none with no real pattern to availability. On the plus side the hotel seem to have a generator because power was quickly restored during each of the cuts that are so frequent in Pakistan. Overall, this is a good hotel with the added bonus of a great position for mountain viewing provided that you can live without reliable internet.

Gahirat Castle Hotel 1912

Gahirat Castle Hotel 1912: Royal Residence Converted Into Hotel for Tourists

Reviewed By Ranger_ofthe_North

Gahirat Castle was built as royal residence. Recently it was converted into a hotel and it still maintains its air of antiquity and royalty. The rooms are large, well-lit, although a bit coldish in winter, with beautiful verandas and loads of open spaces in between to enjoy the views and the sunshine, unobstructed by restraints of window panes and glasses. The dining area is beautifully decorated, size is a bit small which looks and feels good and cozy rather than tight and restraining with nice wood-works. The staff is more polite and more cooperative than we had expected. Food qualtiy is excellent. However, the best part is that it is located outside the hustle and bustle of Chitral main city, and has exquisite views, and it is right on entrance to many beautiful valleys like the MadaKlast and the Bamburate Valleys. I would highly recommend this hotel.
