Campania Campgrounds | Places to Stay in Campania

April 26, 2023 Franklyn Hardiman

The region of Campania curves around the bays of Naples and Sorrento, with towering Vesuvius and mountain ranges and massifs looming above. Ancient classical ruins are scattered throughout the region, from the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum to the Greek temples in Paestum. Popular resort towns include charming Sorrento and Amalfi, upscale Positano and haven for the elite, Ravello. For even more memorable sights, catch a ferry from Sorrento or Naples to the isle of Capri, home of the magical Blue Grotto.

Shame, hard to get too

Reviewed By luvhols043

Spent two night's here Friendly staff Had to get a taxi as we had waited for a bus for nearly 2 hours in Salerno number 31 bus, it does not exist. Ended up going to the town nearest and walking to the comercial maximell, the taxi cost us 35 Euros!! Found out from campsite its the 24 bus which goes from Salerno, but the last one is 8pm and does not run Saturday/ Sunday!! The deluxe bungalow we found was basic with no real cooking facilities. Not that we wanted to cook, but make the odd cup of coffee/ tea. Only provided one massive pan and one small cup and one expresso cup for 5 people!! We came to check it out for future holidays, we would not go back

Truly Amazing Hospitality

Reviewed By GT C

At first sight, the hotel appears not to be well located at around a 25 minute walk from the city centre. BUT, Stefano and Helena, the amazingly warm, hospitable, and welcoming hosts, offer to drive you to and from the ruins or train stations. Just to give an example, this morning Stefano's mother very kindly insisted on driving me at 5.40 am to the station. Wonderful hosts, clean spacious rooms, and a view of Vesuvius. Oh, and try the restaurant round the corner- it's incredible!

Lovely resort

Reviewed By Richard C

We stayed 10 days on a fully inclusive basis. We had a great time. The resort is adjacent to Calanca Beach. A sandy beach with crystal clear water. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and made us welcome. Our rooms were comfortable and well equipped with air conditioning satellite tv and an en suite bathroom with large shower. Beach umbrella with sunbed and deck chair was included. The restaurant was spacious and well managed and we had good food with always a choice of fish or meat dishes. Due to Covid19 precautions the restaurant and beach furniture was disinfected daily and the restaurant arranged tables and seating to comply with social distancing. All staff wore facemasks and as clients we were required to wear masks too. Wifi is available around the restaurant, bar and pool area but not in the rooms as they are laid out within olive groves and terraces. The site is also laid out for camper vans, caravans and tents. I have no hesitation in recommending this resort and we can't wait to return.

A beautiful place to relax

Reviewed By merlery

For me and my friend this was just perfect. We had a place in front of the see and we heard the sound of the waves when we fell asleep and woke up with an awsome view over the beautiful sea. The camping was clean and calm and the beach infront of it was not crowded even in august. You could easily get into the city palinuro to do some shopping or have dinner. It is the perfekt place to calm down, relax and be one with the nature although it's not far from the city

We stayed at the campside for 4 nights. It was the ideal spot to discover the beautiful amalfi coast by scooter. The owner was very helpfull and kind. The campside is located at a beautiful farm (with super friendly farm dogs). Each pitch had its own little shady area between lemon trees and amazing flowers. The shower and toilet accomodation is basic but clean (lovely hottt shower). Would deffff recommend!
