My husband and I love this place. We stayed here twice during our journey down from Rome to Sicily and back up again. The staff is extremely professional and kind, and the rooms are spotless and spacious. The view from our room was beautiful, but the real surprise was the restaurant. We found the dining at the agriturismo to be EXCELLENT, using the highest-quality of products from their own farms. Since my in-laws live in Sicily and we will undoubtedly be doing annual trips from Rome to Sicily, we plan on making a stop in Montalto Uffugo a fixed part of our itinerary. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality.

Excellent ! Food, view, pool and most of all the staff were extraordinary. We camped right on a small stretch underneath the restaurant above the pool. Camper services with grey water disposal, water, electricity it’s all there. We found the spot coincidentally, Bellissima. Mille grazie.

Calabria has always been on our list of italian regions to visit. La Rosa nel Bicchiere was recommended by italian friends and we were not disappointed at all. Upon our arrival on Assumption Day (Ferragosto, highly celebrated throughout Italy, on 15 August), the manager Florindo who speaks very good English, welcomed us and was extremely helpful in guiding us on the places to visit during our stay in Calabria. The charm, tranquility and well-maintained structures (rooms, pool, etc) will make you feel relax and chilled. Their restaurant is well known in Soveria Manelli, and therefore if you want to enjoy dinner outside, we recommend you book a table in advance say by mid-day. The food was amazing and the restaurant had a variety of choices to choose from .We truly enjoyed the stunning view and landscapes around, sitting and chilling in the serene gardens, full of flowers. The entire staff were warm and wonderful souls, and this is what make a great agriturismo/hotel, the warmth and kindness and attention to details of their staff. We invite you to visit this beautiful region, where people will welcome you with open arms and kind heart. you can enjoy the sea (Ionian sea, Tyrrhenian sea), mountains, museums, delicious traditional cuisine, cultural events, charming small cities, and archeological parks. We just fell in love with Calabria and if you are looking for a place to unwind, La Rosa Nell Biccchiere is the perfect place. We will definitely go back before we leave Italy.

This charming stone farmhouse dates back to the 1900s and offers an organic restaurant serving home-grown food. Locanda Dei Cocomeri is in Montalto Uffugo in the Calabrian countryside.Rooms here have a rustic design with stone walls and tiled floors. They are also modern with air conditioning, plasma-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.An Italian breakfast is served each morning in the bright dining hall that overlooks the garden.
The hotel was both beautiful and rustic. What made our stay exceptional was the staff. Claudia made us very welcome and couldn't do enough to help take our breakfast and dinner orders. The manager was very kind and offered us the first night free of charge as there was a small dinner party booked in and he was worried they may disturb us. it was fine and we all slept bery well! The food was delicious & made more special by the fact that it was their own produce. We would definitely return.

The farm is located in the Calabrian side of the Pollino National Park on the slopes of Mount Calimaro (895 m), on a natural terrace overlooking its 537 m. The height of the Gulf of Policastro, halfway between the villages of Aieta and Tortora. Agricultural activity is the production of cereals, oil, vegetables, fruits and rearing of farmyard animals, sheep, goats and pigs. The proximity to the sea, the exposure, the elegance of the interior and the home cooking make the Terrerosse the ideal place for a restful and refreshing. The small cottage, the "barn" and "stable", have been restored making apartments and rooms without altering the original volumes, using traditional materials such as wood and stone.Within 20 km you can enjoy the wonderful beaches of the Tyrrhenian Cosentino (Scalea, San Nicola Arcella, Praia a Mare, Tortora) and Maratea, the pearl of Basilicata. A few kilometers away, reachable through easy hiking trails, are open, then the characteristic villages of Papasidero, on the narrow valley of the river Lao, with the Riparo del Romito, and Laino Borgo Laino Castello. There are many routes of varying difficulty that lovers of the Mountain will take to conquer peaks of great interest, such as the Monte Ciagola (1462 m asl).
It is a long journey to get there but not worth the effort. The food was very ordinary and not cheap. We were expecting something special being an organic farm but the cooking was unprofessional and not up to the standard for the prices we were charged. Though the surroundings were very pleasant we all felt the meal was something we could have cooked at home.So not a great experience.

We spent 5 nights / 6 days at Agrilao and had a wonderful relaxing time... the setting is stunning. You can explore the Lao river basin from the hotel, and stroll around the fruit trees, olive trees and vineyards. The pool is perfect and the food was completely delicious... they managed to cater for vegans at lunch and dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable with beautiful views to wake up to. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quieter stay out of Scalea town in beautiful Calabria.

Locanda Adele - Parghelia, we are waiting for you in Calabria to live and visit the most beautiful villages and beaches of the Costa degli Dei!
Affittacamere Da Adele was the last destination returning home after our 15days road trip to Sicily and Calabria 5 years before (August 2013). I wanted to write my review after returning home, but as was waiting from a friend to write down my thoughts in Italian and then catching up with daily things, time passed by and I never did my review on time. I carry this bourden 5 years now, as our hosts in Affittacamere Da Adele treated me and my girlfriend as a family and even better and i m with no excuse for not thanking them yet. We arrived on late evening from Catania with our car having a significant but not yet defined mechanical problem. We called the rooms as our car had issues to climb up the road leading to the rooms. This small restuarant/rooms is located on a hill, having wonderful view on Tropea coastline. Owner's son came by with his car to Parghelia to pick us up and help us move our car to the room. We were exchausted, quite frustrated and anxious as next day we had to drive 500km+ to Bari in order to catch up with our returning ship to Greece. When accomodated to our room, we went down to the restaurant to eat something quickly (as with all this trouble no real apepite was there) and then to rest and thing how will manage our way back next day. Owner son (excuse me my friend i cannot remember your name), just told us "trust me, don't bother looking our catalogue, i will choose and serve you". And we did perfectly fine we trusted him! Our dinner was just superb! all dishes we tried were delicious, cooked with pure and fresh ingredients, but mostly with love and care from the chef. After finishing our dinner at almost midnight, owner's son came up and told us that he spoke with his father for our case and his father would like to have a look on our damaged car, as he had some knowledge on mechanics. And some minutes later, our host, the owner and in parallel hef of Affittacamere Da Adele was with a flashlight outside in a rainy night, trying to figure out what is happening with our car! When he concluded his car inspection, he told us" go and rest, tomorrow morning we will go to a friend mechanic nearby to have a look on your car, he is good trust me". And indeed next morning, after having a rich and delicious breakfast, he drived ahead of us with low speed (as our car could not go with more than 40km/h) to a near city around 20km, where his friend mechanic was there. He asked him to abandon his rest work and focus on our car, as we had to catch our ship from Bari in early afternoon. He stayed with us the 2hours the mechanic was working our car (which was finally fixed!!), leaving behind all his morning daily chores just in order to help us. With my wife we are travelling frequently and we have stayed / ate to lots of hotels, motels, rooms, restaurants, taverns etc. Every time we discuss with our friends regarding our best experience during our trips , Affittacamere Da Adele is the winner, miles away from the second. The kindness, hospitality and support we received from this family while we were in a difficult situation is beyond words to describe and beyond thanks! We think them often and we really hope their business is doing great, as restaurant and food served were excellent, as also rooms were new, spacious, very clean and relaxing! But most of all we send them our warm and best wishes for healthiness, joy, happiness and prosperity individually! Your Greek friends, Christos - Eleni
