British Columbia, Canada Food Guide: 8 Pizza food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Vancouver

February 22, 2020 Etsuko Causey

Reviews on Pizza food in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Canada's largest metropolis, Vancouver is a city of varied landscapes and diverse population. Its mix of the scenic and urban mean that weekenders can spend the morning taking advantage of its beaches, ski mountains, and hiking trails, only to kick back in the evening at first-rate restaurants and wine bars among a labyrinth of skyscrapers. As friendly and welcoming as it is ethnically diverse, the streets are crowded with different languages being spoken everywhere, and the city's sights, sounds, and flavors are a hodgepodge of warm multiculturalism. It is a haven both for the urbanite and the sportsman, offering all the sophistication of a modern city center, with a strong focus on the arts and a burgeoning cafe culture, but with charming suburban outlets and easy outdoor day trips. Though the city is often split into three districts, Vancouver and its surrounding environs feature multiple neighbourhoods, each with their own character and draw, in one massive conglomeration. Take your time and explore as many of them as possible.

We, a group of 8, went to this restaurant for dinner. We had a reservation for 7:30 but did not get seated till about just before 8. That is fine. We understand you were busy. We were asked by one young lady if we want to sit together, we have to wait for one other table to vacate before we can do so. But, if we didn't mind separating into 2 tables, then we can sit down right away. We were fine with that. So, we were told to sit at the two tables at the front. We all sat down. Then another young lady, a Hispanic looking, came and asked us if we minded to move to the back corner. So, we got up, but decided we did not like that table. Then another young lady asked if we mind one corner table at the front and one table in the back corner. We decided we just want to go back to the 2 front tables that were originally shown to us. During all this chaos, the short Asian girl said "Can you people just decide where you want to sit, your are holding up the people waiting outside!". She said it 3 times. Wow, This was very rude. We had already sat down at the tables shown to us. It was the staff that wanted to move us around. I did not see this young lady go to tables that were finished and say this to them to get them out. After all this, the young Asian lady and the Hispanic looking lady kept giving us the dirty look. Very rude. I also saw them saying not so nice things with their lips quietly. Our adult children have been there and recommended this place over the other pizza restaurants. So, we brought guests from out of town. They could not believe how rude the staff were. There are many other places to go. If they think they can just give customers a hard time, it won't take long to lose them. Our server was great, but these two girls mentioned were not nice at all. Customers should be treated like customers, not like crap. How can we enjoy our food after being insulted like that.

Having been on my try list for ages I was pleased when a group evening was arranged for this restaurant.Getting out of the bus on Hastings at Carrol was an experience, but around the corner the restaurant was very nice and modern. Impressive pizza oven with wood logs.Nice meatball starter and bread with oil. The pizza looked great, although a bit light on topping. However it came with scissors to “slice” it up. A novel approach, but I soon realized why. The pizza was soft and floppy instead of my usual wish to see a semi crispy thin crust. I’ve never seen a pizza like this before and assume that it must be a Naples thing, as in Puglia, or Florence or Rome they weren’t like that. So, great service, nice atmosphere, but not my kind of pizza.Thank you so much for your review. All feedback is important to us and I would be happy to talk with you in person to discuss your experience. No reservation and god food =long wait, but well worth it. The pizza dough is good and generally in the top quartile of wood oven pizzas. The burrata with prosciutto and a very expensive plate of amazing tomatoes what stood up fo me. Good service, expensive beers

Came for dinner. Very nice meal, husband and I shared mussels and clams which were good - in a spicy sauce. Our son enjoyed his beef carpaccio.I then had a very nice lobster ravioli, but my husband felt his chicken marsala tasted processed. Our son said his beef ragu was good. The server was a bit sloppy though, dropping bit of food when clearing plates and not clearing up after herself.Hi Lazigirl,Thank you for taking the time to review Trattoria Kitsilano. We appreciate all feedback from our guests. Firstly I am glad to hear the majority of your visit was a positive one. However, I am sorry to hear your husbands food was not up to his expectations. If you are not completely satisfied with your meal, we are always more than happy to remake it or prepare another dish for you.I would also like to apologize for the service you were provided, this is not normal practice from our servers.
