Have been here for breakfast and dinner and received great service, food and atmosphere both times! The portions are of a very good size and the value is very good! The atmosphere is great and the decor provides a genuine 50s diner experience. There is a range of seating available i.e. at the counter or in booths. The menu selection is great for both food (catering to all tastes for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and drinks (with an extensive soft drink and milkshake menu).

Pleasant and helpful staff, upstairs area very pleasing, Four of us had different main courses, all of which were excellent, but somewhat pricey. Their wine selection included two Australian wines from most probably the most famous vineyard area in the country namely The Barossa Valley....BUT dear Chameleon The Barossa Valley is not in Victoria as you state - a South Australian would not be seen dead drinking a Victorian wine!!

Home Restaurant

Reviewed By Boone8

We live in the north end of Maple Ridge and had an overnight power failure which meant going out for breakfast. Our first thought was the Home. We eat here fairly regularly and have never been disappointed. A lot of people must've had the power out because when we got there, there was a lineup at just after 9 in the morning. No problem. They dealt with it quickly and easily by opening up the other side. Even though they were inundated by a larger than normal horde of customers, the staff and servers handled it like professionals. They didn't act rushed, they gave each customer their full attention and were chatty about what everyone was going through, while keeping the coffee cups full. My wife had the two eggs with bacon while I opted for the corned beef hash, which came with strips of perfectly done corned beef on a large bed of shredded potatoes and fried onions with strips of red peppers scattered throughout. And two eggs on top. Absolutely delicious and filling. The portions are so large, we skipped lunch and only wanted something light for dinner. Probably our favourite place in Maple Ridge, although a few weeks ago, I had the meat loaf and it wasn't as good as it usually was. I'll chalk that up to an off day as it's usually excellent.Thank you very much for the kind words. That certainly was a challenging day for everyone involved! We were lucky enough to have power at the restaurant so we could keep the community fed and caffeinated :) We look forward to serving you again.

I really want to love this place. Staff is always welcoming but I question the cleanliness. Window seals are always full of spider webs. All the nick nacks scattered all over are full of dust and the flys Are just sickening. Here now during a slow period and all the empty tables are dirty full of crumps and not washed up. Love the atmosphere and I wish we had another place like this so close to home but I think I’m finished with eating here.

What a disappointment! Used to be a thriving, fun place with a great menu. Not anymore! It’s dingy, dirty, unfriendly and completely not welcoming. They offer zero options for different diets, and told me the fries were gluten free (“They’re potatoes.”) when they are clearly coated in flour. It was freezing in there, the seats are ripped and bare, no one cracked a smile....should have noticed how empty it was and taken that as a hint to go elsewhere. What a shame.

We came to Fort Langley town for a Fathers Day dinner and some shopping. Attended 16 Jun at 415pm to have a drink and get in before the rush of visitors. Not busy and we sat out side with a view of a beautiful row of flowers we enjoyed. The young female waitress (Brittany) came in good time, offering drinks. We got them and I also asked for a glass of water. We ordered food from her and another beer. Our food came in good time, nice delicious hamburger and salad. I ordered another beer. We were almost finished our meal so I told the manager I wished a beer. We needed more water, napkins but no waitress. She kept standing at the other end where the water was but did not come down our way and ask how is our food tasting or drinks. We finished our meal and waited. Finally got up and paid at the front desk. Was told they are changing the beer barrels. I paid my bill with the manager explaining short staff and misunderstanding on the drinks. This is the second time with a dull experience so might choose another restaurant! Softsand.
