Reviewed By 805carolineaI took my son (8 years old) for a night there so we could spend some quality time together. All in all we loved it! Our room was great - we loved the deco and the balcony with a view of the Rhine. We hit the pool and relaxed in the spa area. A few minor complaints here though! 1. My son couldn’t get a bath robe but other kids at the pool seemed to have them. 2. Kids are only allowed in the pool until 16:30. This is too early as lots of families like a swim after a day out before dinner. This should definitely be moved back until @18:00. The bar area was lovely with a small sandy area with swings which really appealed to my son. The service was friendly and the prices acceptable. We were not happy when we booked the hotel though that we could only get a dinner table at 17:30. We would never eat so early! Maybe ok for people with toddlers! The hotel offers 2 sittings - 1 at 17:30 and 1 at 20:00. We were lucky in that our reservation could be switched to 20:00 on the day of our arrival. This was however a bit too late for an 8 year old and we had to get snacks from the Trust Bar (a nice touch!) to keep us going. We would ideally have wanted to eat @ 19:00. We ate in the Italian restaurant and the food was good. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast next day although a second coffee machine would be good for busy mornings like this one. Overall we had a great experience but there is bit of room for improvement. We do however plan on returning!

Outdated and website photos do not match reality
Reviewed By Dragonfly411Booked two modern looking Standard Rooms via NH website and received the very old rooms that are visible on booking.com. Complained and heard that these are the standard rooms. After showing the photos of the NH website reception had to acknowledge that they do not match. Received 2 new rooms, supposedly New Style but the bathroom is very old so I doubt that. Wellness is 5 EURO and only a Sauna. The jacuzzi has been transformed in a terrace so don't bother to go there. Restaurant and bar are closed for many months. Reception advised and booked a table at restaurant Calimero but I assume they have a deal as it was awful. The area has some good restaurants so book something yourself. Beds are OK but hot water is a problem. Low pressure and not stable when showering. Breakfast is spread across 2 areas. One cramped which was full of people and the other area was empty. There you have a nice view over the river. 4 tables were used by older people and we were told that we were not allowed to sit there for breakfast. I asked why and she said this is the Restaurant. So I asked what you serve here and she said breakfast :-) She could not explain why so after asking it 3 times I decided we would sit there. Breakfast itself is OK for 16 EURO. Hotel has private underground parking for 7 EURO/night. This hotel is a shame for the NH name. Please close it and start over.

Reviewed By analyzer1959Mitten im Weinberg gelegenes kleines Hotel Garni in einem Klosterkomplex. Neue, saubere Zimmer, Gästekühlschrank, Restaurant mit traumhaftem Gastgarten (schließt allerdings um 18) Uhr. Ideal zum Runterkommen. Eine Rezeption gibt es nicht, Schlüssel im Restaurant.

Fantastic vire over the Rhein towards the Niederwalder Denkmal and wine terrasses on the opposite side. Outstanding breakfast buffet and super service. Great value for money. We extended our stay with one night.

The Best Choice for Old World Character and Warmth in Bingen am Rhein
Reviewed By RobertMcMichaelMy wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Weinhaus Selmigkeit for one night, as we were "railpassing" from Prague to Brussels. I chose Bingen because of its location at the south end of the Rhine River Gorge (which we continued to travel through the next day). I chose this hotel because I wanted to have a local experience in a small place with character. Marcus, the innkeeper, was a great host and went way beyond our expectations to help us find a great place to eat, just down the street, and to be our interpreter. The room was very comfortable and quiet (despite the train traffic) and the breakfast was very nice. I would really liked to have spent more time there and hope to in the future. Also a great value for the money. It's a taxi ride from the main train station, but cabs are just waiting there and it's no big deal.

Reviewed By Go55We spent a night here at the beginning of a walk along the Rhine. The rooms are comfortable and very clean but the floor is the bathroom is slightly raised from the bedroom floor and I hurt one of my toes on it. Good wifi. No A/C but a small fan. Breakfast was great - really nice range of food and excellent coffee.

Reviewed By Eggylegs54Booked through the Tourist Board Office . The hotel was a bit old fashioned but he room was spacious the beds comfortable and the rooms clean and tidy. The breakfast was usual german continental but it was plentiful and the staff friendly and helpful.
