Find out what Turkish restaurants to try in Hove. Hove /hoʊv/ is a town in East Sussex, England, immediately west of its larger neighbour Brighton, with which it forms the unitary authority Brighton and Hove. It forms a single conurbation with Brighton and some smaller towns and villages running along the coast. As part of local government reform, Brighton and Hove were merged, to form the borough of Brighton and Hove in 1997. In 2001, the new borough officially attained city status.

Meeting my daughter for an early diner in a wet Saturday.Shown to a table, of our choice, and given water and menus. I chose the chicken shish and daughter had the set 2 course menu for £12.95 of minced lamb stuffed aubergine with 2 meze from the choice on the meze starter menu. The meze of baba ghanoush and the sea asparagus with garlic & olive oil arrived very quickly with an additional on the house extra dish and a basket of flat bread. They tasted fresh and flavourful and simply divine.our mains arrived fairly quickly afterwards and was hot and fresh. My chicken shish arrived with grilled vegetables and a fresh light green salad and rice and was really tasty and fresh and again flavourful. My daughters food arrived of stuffed aubergine with lamb mince served with fresh salad and rice and that too tasted fresh and flavourful. Only small mention would be that the aubergine was a little on the soggy/overcooked side, but that was all and didn't impair on the overall quality and taste, maybe it was just my personal preference. Overall, the service and food was excellent and good value at just £23 for the 2 of us.I cant wait to go back again and try something else.

Excellent Turkish food and very good value. I usually go for the lamb chops will bulgur and salad. The portions are generous and the house red - Ephesus wine from Turkey - is a good, reasonably priced accompaniment. There is a complimentary basket of unleavened bread to start, with one spicey and one cooling dip, and olives. Great value. The staff are very friendly and efficient. This is becoming one of my regular places to eat.

Dropped into this restaurant as we have been meaning to go here for a while and had a mixture of lots of things from the delicious Garlic Mushrooms, Salad, Kebab, and I highly recommend all the dishes as I didn’t find any of them tasty. Situated in an area in Hove that’s really easy to park close you will find it an easy experience. The service was good and the interior was really pleasant and you wasn’t sitting to close together. There are seats outside and I shouldn’t eating alfresco would be a delight in the summer and something I’m personally looking forward to enjoying.

Despite having been advised that Mekan - which had briefly gone through an incarnation as ‘Fishmekan’ - was seemingly a successor to the excellent Makara restaurant, once from further down Church Road in Hove, this was our first venture inside. Why the delay?… Well, the location has, over recent years, been the host of a number of ill-fated ventures and there was a worry this might prove the same. Immediately on entering, we realised that worry was unnecessary - the place, at 8pm on a Saturday night, was full and clearly the attendees were all enjoying themselves. The menu is extensive but we made some well-worn choices and were delighted to find the standard of Makara had been maintained. A minor downside is that the one-room restaurant is vast and the extremely high ceiling and lack of absorbent furnishings makes for perhaps an over-noisy ambience but the sound of exuberance wins over library-style silence for me any day. Mekan is now firmly on the ‘revisit soon’ list.
