First time I had visited here - what a beautiful historic building. I understand there is an upstairs and downstairs to the business - we sat upstairs for lunch. It was quiet and our server was on it and very professional. Lots of good looking options on the lunch menu, I opted for a beef dip - it was a good sized portion, and tasty. Others in my group had burgers and bowls - no complaints from anyone. Would I come back? Sure would!!

So we recently moved to this area and after reading the reviews decided to try it. We got there around noon figuring this would be a good time. NOT! They had 2 soups and a couple of salads but we kind of wanted Bacon and their eggs Benedict. The bacon was cold! Potatoes were cold and the eggs Benedict was cold eggs on a soggy muffin with package Hollandaise. They also had pancakes that were stone cold and scrambled eggs again cold. Okay so we will move to the dessert table!! All store bought package crap!!! They only thing that was okay was the fruit!!!So for 2 buffet and 2 coffee for $42.00!!!! Don't even bother!!!

I arrived there was ample parking which is a bonus and it is free! I was able to sit wherever i wanted and the server Eva was friendly and attentive and she kept me up to date on my order but prior to that she was understanding as I had just come in a bit flustered from trying to have dinner at the Phoenix Steak house downtown but the owner was incredibly rude so I left. It seems other customers over heard me and confirmed that Phoenix's was not great for many reasons. Anyways Mr Mikes was happy to have my business and they also seem to have better service over the Kamloops Restaurant although they are the same chain I can honestly say after 8 or 9 visits in the last year I have never had an issue at the Vernon Mr Mikes. I know what I like and I always order the fillet and it is always cooked perfect. The vegetables changes and this time they changed the menu and no onion rings came with the fillet so I mentioned it and my server Eva brought me some anyways, she was a sweetheart. I got the impression she could handle any situation with ease. I could not eat all my appy's so brought them home and left with one problem that I was to full, but a good problem to have. It seems this place has become my steady go to when in Vernon. I like to try new places and while I do There are not a lot of restaurants that I can say have a consistency in both excellent food and service like the Vernon Mr Mikes does.
