We visited the restaurant whilst staying next door in the Side Resort, it was possibly the worst meal I have had in Turkey and I have visited over 30 times. After ordering a large dog appeared at our table and sat there for the whole meal begging. Not one member of staff came near to move the dog away. I ordered lasagna (well Iâm told thatâs what it was)!!! It was basically layered dry pasta with tomatoes on top, when the plates were being taken away I was asked why I hadnât eaten it. I pointed out it had no meat in it only to be told that thatâs how lasagna is!!!! The guy then said sorry because you didnât eat would you like free tea or coffee! How does that make up for an uneaten meal? We were charged for it anyway! I would never return and wouldnât recommend, Iâm not picky and never complain but both the food and service were shockingly bad.

Had one meal here , found it the same as most restaurants along this strip by the harbor , very ordinary and a bit overpriced because of its position . 4 average meals and a drink then left .thank you very much

Came here after reading reviews and wasn't disappointed food was good minus a few niggly problems.Food was slow coming out but we where giving some sort of flat bread and a load of dips which was a nice gesture we weren't in a rush to go any where so wasn't a problem but i imagine this would be for some people. I initially i thought we where under dressed a bit as the decor and people currently dinning looked a bit more formal. We where a party of 10 consisting of 4 adults and 6 kids. The kids all ate adults meals as there was no kids menu,the staff said the would make kids meals if we liked but the kids all wanted to try some thing different. Myself and my wife had garlic prawns for a starter no complaints there and another member had calamari again no complaints. My kids both had chicken nachos that came out same time as our starters and the portion size was massive one would have been enough with maybe a side of chips,I tried there nachos and i loved them,the cheese sauce was similar to an american cheese pouring sauce but a lot tastier and less dense. For mains i had steak toronado rossini i had no clue what to expect as never had it before,The steak was a fillet and massive and the sauce was a really really thick like gravy sauce that went gelatinous but was still tasty,Steak was cooked perfect and came with oven baked potatoe and filo pastry basket with some carrot and broccoli which was a bit al dente for me,wife had chicken fajitas which she wasn't to impressed with says they where ok but lacking a bit flavour. One of the members of our party had ordered mix fajitas and so did her son and they brought her main and starter out at the same time.The kids meals where to be served with starters,She sent them back and the waiter was apologetic and said he would make fresh fajitas for her but when her main did eventually get served at the right time they had been thrown back in a pan and every thing was more or less black compared to the wifes fajitas that was cooked once. If i ever do visit this region of Turkey again i would definitely go back for a visit as the foods good and price to match,We paid in pounds and for 4 large coke,4 small coke,2 starters and 4 mains it came to £50 and that was with me having a fillet steak,Great value.

We have been visiting Side every year for the last eight years! We love it! We have seen the town through its transformation from a run down town into the beautiful, newly renovated historic harbour town it is today.Always on the look out to try new restaurants, whilst walking past one evening, we were invited in by Tariq! He is a pleasant gentleman, polite, funny and not pushy. We agreed to go back a few days later.We reserved our table for the best view of the sunset and returned as arranged. It was a decision not to be regretted! What an absolutely beautiful setting for an evening dining al fresco! All the waiters were polite and attentive.The menu was perfectly sufficient with a good choice for all including children. My partner and I had the Pepper Steak and Entrecôte respectively. Our daughter enjoyed the Fajitas. All meals were cooked to perfection. The scenery overlooking the sea was idyllic making the ambience of the restaurant simply wonderful.I must add, the restaurant has been built on roman ruins and therefore glass flooring and lighting allows for you to see the amazing brickwork from centuries before!We so enjoyed our evening and experience at Mermaid Restaurant, we are planning another visit before we return home! Please try it out! Iâm sure you wonât be disappointed

Only ate here once as the food was fairly nice and staff ok but nothing exciting at all . Upstairs in a fairly dim area with no view and nothing much going it for except that the food was fairly nice and typical of the town overall including prices .

Ate here on a couple of occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. The Shrimps in Garlic sauce is a must as a starter and the Guyswho own it are very friendly.It is very low key but well worth the visit. It is easy to find ie: if you are standing in front of and looking at the Sunset Restaurant take the road to the left and you will see the Deniz sign.

Great little restaurant. Had a lovely meal sitting out on the terrace watching a beautiful sunset. The service was very good and the food was great. The garlic sizzling prawns starter and fillet steak main were both outstanding. Kids bolognese would easily feed a adult and was of a very good standard too. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

We went to Istanbul a total of 6 times on a 6 day holiday and each time, ordering different things, the food was nothing short of amazing. There was no real reason to go elsewhere as the prices were completely reasonable too.Make sure you join the Karaoke nights on Mondays or Thursdays - we spent £250 between 4 of us and had starters, filet steaks and every coctail in the book leaving us stumbling home. The atmosphere was incredible.Highly recommendedThanks Louise for the great review and for spending your time and money in Cafe Istanbul.

Best restaurant we have tried in Turkey, food is great. We previously read a review saying the portions were small, we ordered extra chicken and chips, the food came and portions were great size!! Really tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and well kept. Will be back!!

My husband & I ate here after been recommended by quite a few people!! I ordered mushroom steak WELLDONE I canât stand the site of pink/blood!When it arrived it looked beautiful although handful of chips tint pice cauliflower & 2 carrots & half onion I cut into my steak & Urrrrgh blood poured out I sent it straight back while I was borking!!! My husband had eaten his meal by time mine came back!Finished only had one drink & left Disappointed really
