This is a hotel-restaurant in the center of Dwingeloo, opposite the church. I have not slept there but have heard its very good. I visit the restaurant every now and then for either lunch or a snakc or coffee. I think the ambiance is excellent. Inside are many cosy coeners and tables to sit and relax, and outside they have a nice terrace with tables and chairs but also with nice lounge-benches. Absolutely good foor. I can only recommend this place.

What an amazing restaurant! The owner is so friendly and hospitable. You feel so welcome in this beautiful place. The surrounding area is filled with small canals and gorgeous homes. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are in the area. Top class service !!!

They have a great new menu, really good meat from the green egg, fabulous service. Fish very fresh. Very creative items on the menu. The style of the restaurant should change, but thats something for the future.

Celebrating the end of the holiday we returned to our favorite place in town, this time to order beyond the usual excellent pizza. The Sardinia crew surprised us with a fantastic antipasto carne selection, rich in taste; followed by incredibly well-prepared main dishes. The veal (we ordered 'filetto masala', 'filetto gorgonzola' and 'fettine in umido') was soft and tender - exactly prepared as we requested (rare to medium rare, and medium rare) - and tasted excellent. The additional garlic-flavored spaghetti, the fresh salad and delicious potatoes topped it off. The 'semifreddo al pistachio' and final Sambuca sealed another perfect dinner. Staff friendly, price OK - when in Meppel, eat at Restorante Sardinia. We will!

The restaurant is located in an old school building and its decorations include an old Dutch reading "plank". There were four in our party, three Dutch people and a Lancashire lass. The service was excellent, knowledgeable about food and wine, friendly and non intrusive. The food was very well presented, a feast for the eye. The starters, a vegetarian dish and pastrami dishes for the others, were brilliant, fresh and very tasty. The "amuse bouche" cucumber gazpacho and a small piece of tomato "cake". Main course included veal sweetbreads on a risotto, delicate chicken with superb jus (gravy to us Northeners) accompanied by wonderful vegetable combinations and a red gurnard dish. Desert were excellent too, with wonderful ice creams, fruit (a superb blackberry coulis), not over sweet. We had a bottle of Cava and a bottle of German red wine. The table is yours for the evening. The high table is not the most comfortable, but was one of the last ones left and it was worth it for the food. In our eyes the bill at around £40 a head was very much worth it. Highly recommended!

I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. But especially the starters and the desserts were amazing great.Dear Wijtze,Thank you for your kind review! In the future, please let us know when you expected a bit more on your plate. Nice, cozy place. Interior looks like a loghouse, good athmosphere. Nice, polite crew. The Canadian flags outside pretend that it's a Canadian restaurant. It isn't! Poutine, Nanaimo bar, butter tarts, tourtière....none of them available. New Orleans cheese nuggets, New Zealand lamb, Yellowstone steak.....geography problems? Confusing. My choice: Mustardsoup ( good) and Alberta (!) pork tenderloin. Kind of dry and limited flavour The curled fries are not real potatoes but made of flour. Anyways, all together, it was OK to be there with the family but not my first choice to go back soon.

In een eigentijdse gezellige ambiance (licht industrieel) biedt dit restaurant zeer smakelijke gerechten. Verrassend was de amuse! Er is een uitgebreide wijnkaart, met ook ruime keuze in wijnen per glas. Vriendelijke bediening met verstand van zaken! Ruime privacy biedende plaatsen, met sommigen zicht op open keuken. De menukaart biedt een goede keuze is vis-, vlees-, en vegetarische gerechten. Salade en frieten zijn apart te bestellen. Als extra service krijg je ma ontvangst een karaf water en wat broodjes met olijfolie, boter en zeezout. Een restaurant om zeker nog eens terug te komen! NB Je kan er ook overnachten!
