Zoutelande (Zeelandic: Zóetelande) is a town in the southwestern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Veere, Zeeland, between Dishoek and Westkapelle on the former island Walcheren. On 1 January 2005 it had 1,556 inhabitants. Originally, Zoutelande was mainly an agricultural village. The village's character changed slowly into a tourist resort as the demand for beach recreation rose from about the middle of the 19th century.

We went there for an early dinner.The design is cozy and modern, the menu only offers a small amount of different dishes.But the dishes are diverse and creative, the quality of the food was excellent. For many dishes there was a veggie version available. Service was nice, the prices reasonable.

We used this beach pavilion, on a resting stop during a bike ride. Coffee was good, apple pie which we ordered was very good as well - much better than we are used to when visiting tourist spots. We were helped and served very quickly and friendly, which we definitely liked. This pavilion is really close to the city centre, it doesn't take a long dune - hike to get here.

On our recent trip to Cadzand, we did a bit of car touring on a rainy Tuesday. Many restaurants and shops were still closed as it was the end of February. We arrived at this restaurant and only a few people were inside. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, but our fish and chips took almost 30 minutes to get come to us. Not sure what took so long since the place was virtually empty. The IPA and fish were yummy. We were glad to be warm and dry with full bellies.

This place is listed as a restaurant and reviewed as such.The Zuiderduin Beachclub is a trendy place, view is obviously wonderful, staff was nice but food was absolutely horrible, especially considering its price. We had mussels cooked in water (!?) with some leeks and onions plus two pieces of carrots on top (but lots of industrial mayo to dip the mussels in) and Bolognese pasta, TOTALLY BLAND as well (and knives but not a single spoon). Presentation was good but it was ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS: had never eaten anything that easy to prepare yet that bad. Felt like nothing is homemade though the menu is very simple. A welcoming place to have a drink but stay away from the so-called restaurant ⦠as many reviewers already wrote (and we should have read them before!).

Piet Heyn is on the beach and we know it very well as we go regularly to Vlissingen/Koudekerke for one or two days. The first stop is for a nice coffee with sea view and in the evening a simple dish (fish, good meat, salad etc) with sometimes a marvellous sunset. Good service, friendly people, nice furniture. You got a real holiday feeling when you go to Piet Heyn.

Fantastic atmosphere during the "Mosselfeesten", absolute must-go when in Middelburg in the end of July. The "mosselwok" is definitely one of the best mussels I have ever come to eat. Not even mentioning the party afterwards in the evening, where I ended up in the cozy rooms, which are attached to the restaurant. Great brasserie with an edge in one of the buzzing streets of Middelburg!
