We ate here on a recent trip to Shepton Mallet. We hadnât booked, and combing through Tripadvisor reviews, this seemed to be the best bet in town. Although it was a Saturday night, it was not busy, which was a shame as the place is on the large side so consequently it lacked atmosphere.It was not the best of starts as it took 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order â service was glacial slow at times â but the menu looked promising. Portions are definitely on the generous size, so eating a starter and main was a bit of a struggle â certainly no room for dessert. Personally would prefer smaller portions and prices, as it was a little on the expensive side. However food quality was good, my calamari starter was crisp and fresh, followed by the saltimbocca â the only let down was the side of veg which had no flavour, and certainly needed more potatoes and less carrots. Overall though not a bad find

This family run restaurant is one of the nicest, friendly and atmospheric places to visit in Wells. The warm welcome combined with the wonderfully authentic Italian food makes it a must visit. The quality of the pizza is magnificent and just as good as anything you can get in Rome! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for genuinely great Italian food.
