After a long drive of some 450 km from Puglia, we finally arrived in Spoleto, a city we had visited some 5 years ago. Besides the architecture and mainly the Duomo, what we remembered most from that trip was the simple but oh-so good meal at this restaurant, which was located right behind the hotel we stayed at that time. Well, this time we stayed at a different hotel but still wanted to revisit the Sportellino. We managed to get seated again at the same table as last time, and ordered more or less the same food. What we remembered was the fantastic, chewy strangozzi pasta and the very tasty coniglio alla cacciatore. Both were still on the menu and of course we ordered them again. We started out with a shared order of mixed bruschette: with olive oil, artichoke, tomato and liver paste which were good but not really special. Then came our main courses: the strangozzi with truffle was still as chewy and tasty as we remembered and the coniglio/rabbit was just as tasty - it is a great feeling to return after years to a place and find that your memory was right and the kitchen still delivered! Just to make it clear: the Sportellino is not a fancy hyped-up place but a simple, very local good eatery with basic and good food - and sometimes that is just the best way to be. To boot: it has very reasonable prices - the coniglio was just EU7.50, and a grappa was EU2! We would definitely return here again if we ever make it back to Spoleto!

My wife and I arrived in Spoleto, Italy one rainy Monday afternoon in early March, and we walked and walked and walked but could find not one open restaurant! This is supposed to be the sister city of Charleston, SC, which is the area where we live, but unlike Charleston food is scarce here! So frustrating!! Our hotel manager suggested Led Zeppelin as a great take-out pizza joint, so my wife walked the trip a mile away, ordered a shrimp, spinach and tomato pizza; they said fine, and she went off to find us a bottle of wine at a nearby grocery. When she returned they said they had run out of shrimp (at 7 pm), which is very hard to believe! Anyway, the spinach and tomato spice was great!

We found the restaurant in trip advisor, the food is very good specillay the pizza. The owners are very friendly, we really felt like home. Very reccomended if you are in the region. Grazie per la sua recensione, e' stato un vero piacere avervi come nostri ospiti.

We ate here the evening we arrived in Spoleto after a tiring day. Wanted some comfort food and we ordered pizza and salad. Really good quality and GF for my partner. Really good pizza base and well presented. They also do all the regional dishes and if the pizza was anything to go by.....

This family-run restaurant is very conveniently situated close to the Palazzo SantâAngelo in Via Monterone, where we stayed while in Spoleto. It has a very homely ambience where the food is honest and wholesome and the servings incredibly generous. You will not go home hungry. We ate here on two nights because it was so good. On the first night, we had the Papardelle with wild boar and the Stangozzi with funghi porcini. These were both exceptional dishes and exactly what we needed after our drive from Rome. We then had strawberries and panna cotta for our dolce. On the second night, we both had a huge bowl of zuppa di farro, which was seriously delicious and very filling, for our primi piatti and for our secondi, we had pizza quatro formaggi and the wild boar casserole served with very interestingly curved chips. We shared a bottle of Raina Umbrian Grechetto 2017 vino bianco. Great friendly service!

This pizza place is located right next to the fountain in the Piazza del Mercato. It is a great spot to grab a slice of pizza, or order a whole one to take home. You can eat inside (and outside in the Piazza during the warmer months). A couple of slices of their pizza and a beer only costs 6-10 euro. The men who work here have always been very personable and helpful. I love this place!

Enjoyed this restaurant. Very accommodating. Went with family members that live in Ferentillo (a nearby town) and returned twice on our own. Very reasonably priced and great food. Service was excellent even though my Italian is not quite good yet.

During a brief visit to Spoleto we discovered Silver Spuleti and had an amazing lunch. We had amazing pinserias (basically a delicious pizza) with local organic cheese and prosciutto plates. The chilled white wine of sagrantino grapes hit the spot and the service was impeccable! Grazie Silver Spuleti!

This little places a gem.....we love everything on the menu particularly the meals with truffle such as the Farro Soup and the whole Trout with Tartufo - they will even de-bone it if you prefer. The service is terrific and we look forward to getting back there again as soon as possible.
