Itâs with a nod toward reality that one realizes Bon Ton Restaurant in Langkawi isnât as good as it should be.Everything we ordered ranges from vaguely acceptable to properly naff. Others are forgettable that we eat it without it even registering. The desserts are spectacularly inept. The Local Dessert Plate, unfortunately, are even worse: everything on that plate is simply nasty.Putting it bluntly, this Bon Ton has none of the charm of the days gone by. This cafe was so close to our hotel that we were really sad we didn't know of it earlier. We would have probably gone here both the days, it was that good. Great ambience, food and drink. We wanted somewhere nice for our 5th wedding anniversary. One place recommended was being refurbed so we chose La Sal instead. It was a good choice. We didnât book, but there were still tables. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. Drinks were pretty good and it was reasonable value. Came highly recommended as Kuah's top seafood place. Arrived as it opened for the evening to avoid the crowds. Ordered the chilli crabs, steamed large prawns and several local vegetables. The chilli crabs and the prawns were delicious. The crabs were cooked to perfection in a well balanced sweet garlicky tradional chilli sauce. The large fresh prawns were streamed correctly with slivers of ginger in Cantonese style. (My preference over the pan fried dark soy sauce version)All finger licking tasty and such good value too. Crabs and some seafood are subject to market prices.The restaurant is now managed by the next generation but with family elders still very much involved.A well deserved commendations.Good food list ticked.

Drawn by the reviews from previous patrons, we decided to see it (and eat it) to believe it. Guided by Waze, we found the restaurant in the suburbs of Jalan Ulu Melaka, Langkawi. The restaurant set up was cozy and intimate with a picturesque background of the padi fields. We started with vegetables pakora for starters.Pakora was fresh and crisp with aromatic spices. Deliciously spicy sambal belacan and salad was complimentary of the house. We ordered the dinner set menu with no regrets. A must have would be the very succulent and flavourful beef rendang which was the house special. Butter chicken massala, fish sambal and even the seemingly simple omelette takes your memory palate back to the warmth of home cooking. We finished off with mango kulfi for dessert which was definitely worth the calories. We were privileged to meet with Chef Pia, her husband Jimmy and her beautiful family. Overwhelmed by her love and passion for her cooking, writing this review is the very least we could do to show our gratitude for such memorable dining experience. Will definitely return!

Not only is this a great place to eat, the toilets are beautiful. You will have to visit to see why. Really good Malaysian food. We had the curried prawns and chicken curry plus amazing marguitas. Service was outstanding, friendly and efficient. There is a warmth to this place, almost like dining in someoneâs home. We loved it and will return. Seek it out whilst in Langkawi. So relaxing and delicious. Canât wait to return.

Following the hotelâs recent renovations, the Gulai House has not lost any of its charm. The traditional kampung style building creates an authentic atmosphere for stunning Malaysian cuisine. The food is simply delicious and so beautifully presented. There is plenty of choice to suit every taste. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. As the jungle sings deep into the night - dish after dish sets your taste buds tingling with delight. Service is friendly and helpful. It is a most memorable experience and one you will want to repeat. Fabulous! Donât forget to leave room for the awesome pandan ice-cream served in an ice bowl!

FatCupid was one of the culinary highlights of our three week Southeast Asian honeymoon. My wifeâs laksa and my tempe rendang weâre both delicious, as was the appetiser sampler we split - the pizza and wontons were exquisite. The sangria was flavourful, the music was lovely, and the friendly staff were attentive and easy to chat with. Weâll be back!

Had the pleasure of eating here twice during our stay. It has an amazing variety of Aisan, Malaysian and Western dishes with wonderful desserts to follow. Staff are extremely attentive and could not be faulted. I was really lucky that day, It was my gf birthday and I picked same day to give her the ring so I searches for a nice restaurant preferably with great view for such memorable day. Once I decided I called them to book for 7:00 pm sunset time. They were very understanding and helpful and offered me to help with the whole âringâ thing. The only issue is the restaurant on top of a hill but once we reached the location we found a small car waiting to take us top.I was amazed. We got a super view table and talked to the manager there. He told me not to worry about anything. Took the ring and helped with the whole proposal thing. With a complimentary desserts with the ring inside it. Iâve got to admit we both were shocked of the idea but it was brilliant. Once we finished the day they offered the same small car to take us down again. It was awesome. Worth all the effort.thanks guys for making that day special. Thank you for dining at Rimba, we're glad you enjoyed your visit.
