Traditional Japanese Restaurant located in the heart of Otavalo. Just 5 minutes walk from Plaza de los Ponchos. Just across the street from University of Otavalo. We are serving authentic Japanese food with organic veggies and all fresh products.

We recently ate at Japonesa Pargo and it was such a wonderful experience. The owner/chef could not have been more accommodating. As he lived in California for some years, he is fluent in English as well as Spanish. The food was excellent in both flavor and presentation. The prices were amazing as well. On Wednesdays, they have sushi as it is fresh that day. We went on a Friday and had Teriyaki dishes. For dessert, we had green tea tiramisu. It was mouth watering delicious. The menu changes depending on availability of fresh ingredients, although he does serve the sushi every Wednesday as that is when he receives the fresh ingredients. Everything is made to order on the spot and is very fresh. It is a cozy, little hideaway restaurant and is only open in the evenings on Wednesday through Friday, starting at 4:00 pm. It is open Saturday and Sunday, though, from noon. Do yourself a favor and try it. You will not be disappointed. It is great.Cynthia thank you so much for visiting Pârgo.
