This restaurant is near the family we were staying with in Germany. The dining room is small so we got takeout and brought it back home. We each got a salami (pepperoni) pizza. They were really delicious and it only took about 20 minutes for them to be ready. Our family in Germany says they get takeout from there regularly and enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone who is staying in the Kaiserslautern area with a craving for good Italian food.

We ordered red and white wine and calzone. The pizza was very tastefull. We didn't like the ambiance. The staff was kind. We're used to more "chaos" in italian restaurants and for us that was missing here. We didn't want a dessert but limocello.....no limocello!

We visited the restaurant with 10 of us following a business meeting. The owner arranged a variety of hot and cold starters to kick off the dinner (all very tasty, freshly made). Thereafter each chose their own main meal, specifically the Saltimbocca and the Argentinian steak were popular. We combined this with some nice Barolo and Pinot Grigio.

The title says it all, I really think the pizza is ok. The price is ok, it's just average. They have a nice brick oven but they ruin it somehow by making it soggy. Even if you don't load up on toppings. I lived in Italy for 4 years, this isn't Italian it's German Italian.

This restaurant has become my new favorite place! It's been in business for about 5 months. Is a beautiful restaurant with such an elegant atmosphere and great food and options. The prices are fenomenal and the portions are just perfect. It is family friendly due to having high chairs and a nice selection of kids meals. The desert menu is jaw dropping and the staff is very friendly. They also accommodate for take out orders.I had the Carbonara penne pasta and I did not want my meal to end. My wife had the Chef pasta with shrimp and it was amazing. My kids had the Margarita pizza x2.....it was that good!! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a place to go for a date night or family dinner.

The restaurant/deli appear to be a converted butcher shop so it is very small with 3 indoor tables. Much of the food and wine is imported from Italy and the pasta is handmade. My meal was top notch and the service was excellent. I was even given bread and a small appetizer compliments of the kitchen. The food is also very reasonably priced. Excellent hidden gem.

Italian "Biergarten" outside and rustic cellar ambient inside... nice athmosphere. The menue is short and light. Mediterranean dishes from pasta to monte & mare... swift and switched on owner and service. I like and I will be back with my business partners visiting.

Having recently traveled to Italy, we were spoiled with fantastic authentic Italian food. And here in Germany, it seems all too often that the local "Italian" restaurants, seem to have Schnitzel on the menu, and when they do, the Italian food is often times, more Germanic, and lacking that true Italian pizzaz! That said, I was reluctant to follow a friend's recommendation to try the "Self-Help" bistro in K-town, near the mall; as I've been fooled before. Much to my surprise, Vapiano was amazing! Placing your order directly to the chef, who uses the fresh ingredients right before your eyes was a real treat. They were friendly and happy to accommodate. Finally, the food was wonderful. It reminded me of Tuscany, with an explosion of freshness and goodness. We will definitely visit Vapiano's again, soon!
